Thanks I will, Just wanted keep FR safe.
So, for the pukes who don't want to have any of their content show up here, none of it will show up.
For the most part the public who follow FR are better off not knowing what some of these operations, e.g. Indianapolis Star, are writing ~ just get them upset.
The MSM is slowly dying at 5% or more per year. Eventually they are not going to be there to provide us even limited excerpts. News reporting will take a far different form in that very near future ~ 5 years tops!
Even now many formerly major periodicals have withered away to the point where they don't even have archives available for access on line ~ not even at a price.
I'm a bit concerned some of them are going to go out of business without being scanned and put on DVDs for historic purposes.
The New York Times was added to the end of this "Excerpt and Link Only" list sometime back in 2005.
But it still sits at the very end of the list, after your closing comment. This makes it unclear (at least to cow brains like myself) whether it is on the "except only", "no material" or "Gannett" list.
I will quote the tail of the opening post, to show what I mean:
Could you move the New York Times up the list, to its appropriate sublist?
In addition to all of the above, do not post articles written by Maralyn Lois Polak per her copyright complaint. Her column usually appears on WorldNetDaily. Also, do not post images from Corbis or Getty.
Thanks,
Jim
********Addition
New York Times
Thanks.
Pssst !! It's in there !
Then why does a duplicate, as New York Times, remain as an orphan at the very end? Better perhaps to annotate the mytimes.com entry as:
... cows are easily amused ;).
But then there'd be nothing there to amuse a cow, or a brit yanking on something ... ... ;^0
Time to add the AP in any form or format to the list.
I don’t see the associated press listed and with over 627 posts listed how are we to find any updates?
Bump..
“These publishers have asked us not to allow any material at all to be posted to FR”
They undoubtedly know what George Orwell once wrote: “Early in life I had noticed that no event is ever correctly reported in a newspaper.” Come to think of it, he was right.
So how do you know the origin of the picture? How many time was it used by different orgs? Sort of like left overs, you never knew what the original meal was .....
Is there some way a link to this list could be added somewhere in the *Post* section?
Maybe under *Choose Forum*? Have a statement like, “Please check here to make sure your source is allowed.” and then provide the link to this thread.
That would be very helpful to search before posting a thread only to have it rejected or pulled later.
Yesterday I did all of this work to post a new thread on NATO/Georgia only to have it rejected when I tried to post the thread because the source (a German link) was on the do not use list.
Which you found out AFTER you did the work. I’ve had that happen as well.
Bump the GROWING list !!!
Boy, has this list grown since my last post. What happened to freedom of speech?
I wonder how this list compares to Daily kos or DU list?
Any chance we could get a direct link to a full list of these in the Tools section (where “Configure Sidebar” is displayed)?
GANNETT COMPANY INC (NYSE: GCI)
LAST TRADE: 2.69
CHANGE: Down 0.06 (-2.18%)
52-WEEK RANGE: 1.85 - 31.14
Is this because they don’t want conservatives using facts to confuse their base?
