Claremont McKenna president Pamela Gann said the college will honor its agreement to pay for a rental car for Kerri Dunn so she can drive to work. The college has offered to pay for the car repairs.
The vandalism came after a series of race-related incidents at the colleges over the past few months, including a cross-burning at Harvey Mudd College in January.
The cross-burning, which also prompted rallies and demonstrations, was determined to have been the work of drunken students who claimed they did not realize that burning a cross had racial significance.
Dunn has had a few minor brushes with the law while living and working in Nebraska.
Dunn was arrested by the Lincoln Police Department on September 29, 2000 on suspicion of shoplifting, possessing stolen property, refusing to comply with a police officer's orders among other charges, records show. All of the charges, which are misdemeanors, were dropped except for the shoplifting charge. She was found guilty and fined $200, according to criminal records.
In September 1999, Dunn was cited on suspicion of driving on a suspended license and failing to appear for a court hearing. She was found guilty of the first charge and paid a $50 fine, records show.

I know this is old news but Kerri Dunn, the Jason Blair of college professors, has got more problems that we initially knew. Aside from her propensity to propagandize her students instead of teach, she apparently also had an earlier problem with shoplifting, failing to appear in court and possessing stolen property. In this current incident, one would think that after she trashed her own car, writing "kike" and "nigger" on the side, slashing her tires and stealing $1700 worth of personal belongings (from herself), that the school might fire her. No, they instead will honor an earlier agreement to get her a rental car with which to drive work. I still wonder why they're letting her in a classroom with impressionable students though. If hate crimes are such serious matters that Claremont McKenna canceled classes for an entire day to rally students against hate, why is not faking a hate crime, also a hate crime? For one thing you're turning college students against each other, and no doubt against any conservative students unfortunate enough to go to school therre.

For all the school knows, it's possible (although insanely unlikely) that she was framed. For legal reasons, they will pretend there's a chance she's innocent while they investigate. The LAST thing they want is to somehow end up on the wrong end of a credible lawsuit.

"Wonder if she has ties to the Clintons?"
No, but she was John Kerry's English teacher.
We also must remember, she shoplifted for the children, and vandalized her own car, again, for the children.
She is a miscreant and a public menace, like the other democrats.

Alas, the Claremont Colleges aren't known for the level of intelligence of the administration.

And in the meantime, a British brain surgeon sits home, being paid 80,000 pounds/year by the NHS, while they investigate him for alledgedly taking a second helping of soup from the cafeteria. (Oliver Twist alert!)
Institutions, rather than the law, are (money wasting) asses.

Despite the fear and anger felt by students and other members of the community over the vandalism, Dunn won't likely be charged with a hate crime, police said. "It has to be directed toward an individual or a specific group of individuals, so this doesn't meet the criteria for a hate crime,' Van Horn said. If she were straight, white, male, and over forty, I guarantee she'd be led off in leg irons to the hate crime dungeon.

A mere formality on her path to the old heave-ho, sayeth the reporters assigned to the story with whom I've spoken.

Years ago I was accepted at Claremont Men's College but went to UCSB instead. The Claremont Coleges have a very high level of student ability. I can't believe the students did not know the significance of a burning cross.
This Kerri NOW babe seems to have quite a history of problems with the law. What a lowlife. For this incident, perhaps they should spray paint her.

Although filing a false police report is only a misdemeanor, I think they are trying to charge her with a felony of lying to federal investigators. I hope so...
By the way, she didn't "fabricate" the hate crime...she committed it on herself. "Fabricate" assumes it was only "said" and not actually done. This woman needs to be fired immediately and punished to the full extent of the law. I'm sick of these liberal professors trying to prove their lame points by committing crimes and lying to their students.

The Claremont Coleges have a very high level of student ability. I can't believe the students did not know the significance of a burning cross. You know it could have worked like this. After a couple of years at Clarmont-McKenna the students may well have absorbed the liberal worldview that Christianity was ipso facto evidence of prejudice (Christians are "easily led," Christianity "paved the way for the Holocaust)". It's entirely plausible to me that in burning the cross, the students thought they were striking a (drunken) blow against Christianity (even as they were ignorant of the meaning of a burning cross to blacks).
