"politely noting he had been proud to serve in the national organization."
And why is he saying NOW that he was proud to serve in an organization that wanted to assassinate people?

Typical of american left-wing radicals - start to get serious about convictions and they turn tail, run, and cower in a hole.
This shows that kerry was in this group strictly for "political purposes".
Does he have ANY convictions? Other than money, that is?

Is this another situation where John Kerry knew of criminal intent and did nothing? He knew of war crimes and did not report them while in Viet Nam. He knew of an assasination plot.
If he did not report this to authorities, he agreed with the outcome, he just did not want to be involved with the implimentation.
This brings back the question. Did John Kerry commit war crimes as he testified?

Mr. Kerry denies being present at the November 12-15, 1971, meeting in Kansas City of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and says he quit the group before the meeting. But according to the current head of Missouri Veterans for Kerry, Randy Barnes, Mr. Kerry, who was then 27,was at the meeting, voted against the plot, and then orally resigned from the organization. If this is true, orally resigning does not absolve Mr Kerry of being involved in a conspiracy to assassinate someone. And this guy has the audacity to call others 'crooks and liars.'
To: veronica
" Senators like John Stennis, Strom Thurmond, and John Tower were his targets, according to Mr. Camil. They were to be killed during the Senate Christmas recess the following month. "
He not only knew of a plot to assassinate senators, but then went on to become a senator and stand arm & arm with at least Thurmond ( not sure about Tower & Stennis ). Can you imagine knowing of a assassination plot against a colleague and then serving with him as an equal.
How anyone could want a man so devoid of character bewilders me.
It used to surprise me but that was before clinton.

Thanks for posting this. FReeper Hon has been all over this story and I have been sending it to media sources. If this can be proven, then the RATS have a new nominee --- Hillary Clinton. We have to encourage the sources to get on talk radio. The reporter who can prove this may well win a Pulitzer. Of course, it may be posthumous.
We have to push this. Here is the beauty of this story. Even if it cannot be proven that he was there, the public is going to get an earful of how the man who wants to be commander in chief had led a group that was so radical it wanted to assassinate U.S. Senators. This could be the ticking time bomb that will destroy him.

Lack of real leadership in Vietnam...then ....under the mediation of the leftist propanda machine...and the right's abuse of youthfull patriotism....leading to great Bitterness, coupled with drugs, and violent companionship.
The left called us baby killers...and the right called us losers....
When good boys go bad....or isolate themselves in peacefull rural properties...
I chose the latter...I was fortunate and blessed by the grace of God

In a phone interview with the Sun this week, Mr. Camil did not dispute either the account in the Nicosia book or in the oral history. He said he plans to accept an offer by the Florida Kerry organization to become active in Mr. Kerrys presidential campaign. Campaign aides to Mr. Kerry invited Mr.Camil to a meeting for the senator in Orlando last week, but they did not meet directly. Note that "Scott the assassin" didn't just take it into his head to support Kerry. He was *invited*.

Wow. Yesterday, when I read the story about Kerry's swift boat comrades who support him and the one who doesn't and was fired the other day after going public, I had a moment of pause. One of Kerry's comrades stated, "He is dead wrong" (Gardner is wrong) in his recollections of what happened when Gardner was shot and Kerry turned tail to get the boat out of there. This story brings a whole new meaning to "dead wrong."
To: veronica
Assassination plots? This is far darker than ANYTHING that has been alleged against Kerry yet. Just the BREATH of the thought of carrying anything like this out against high officials has been enough, in recent years, to bring down the FBI on even casual and hypothetical discussions.
And remember, who was President in 1971? There was a widespread belief that Nixon HAD to go, by any means whatsoever. If it was true that Vietnam Veterans Against the War had entertained these thoughts, all the more reason to follow up on the story.
It may bear a little more looking into, but were ALL the questions answered on the plane crash that killed John Tower?
To: veronica
I have looked at the VVAW archives in Madison. I didn't get through all of the boxes, because there is far too much stuff, so I can't confirm the resignation letter story. However, in several of the boxes, there are documents on overthrowing government and destroying national infrastructure. These reports were not written by VVAW - they're basically texts you can find on the internet these days - but they were there in their files. Which means that VVAW had them in their files when they turned them over to the archive.

After reading this, the question becomes can't the democrats find a candidate out of the entire American population who doesn't come with the baggage of being a lying coward and/or government stooge, traitor, war criminal, possible assassin, cosmetically-altered gigolo?
Obviously, no; they like what they see.

You will be happy to know that I just spoke with an editor at MSNBC. They now have an email from me in which I used several sources to help create a roadmap for them. If John Kerry was at this meeting, his presidential run is over. Hello, Hillary.
I believe Hillary knows the truth and if she believes that polls look sufficiently favorable for the RATS at convention time, she will release the info and destroy Kerry.

Senators like John Stennis, Strom Thurmond, and John Tower were his targets, according to Mr. Camil. They were to be killed during the Senate Christmas recess the following month.Hmmm--putting on my tinfoil armor, I will venture to mention that this reminds me of the George Wallace shooting the following year:
Portrait of an Assassin: Arthur Bremer
It was March of 1972 when Bremer began his diary. Increasingly lonely, he dreamed of getting attention through assassination. "'Now I start my diary of my personal plot to kill by pistol either Richard Nixon or George Wallace,'" he wrote in his first entry.
