Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts won an overwhelming victory in yesterday's 10 Democratic presidential contests, booting Sen. John Edwards from the race and setting up a November showdown with President Bush.

In a sign that the battle already had begun, Mr. Bush called Mr. Kerry last night to congratulate him on his performance.

Is it my imagination or are these primary numbers pitifully low for a supposed "fired up" Democratic base?

The spelled "Mr. Freeze Mizer" wrong. There's no 'J' or 'K' in his name.

"Mr. Bush, calling from the White House, told Mr. Kerry that "he looked forward to a spirited race,"

Does anyone else get the impression that the "congratulatory phone call" was a charmingly sinister message to Kerry that W now has him fixed directly in his sites?

...had won the election in a tough field.."

This President has a great sense of humor.

The technique is known as damning with faint praise, and is spot on.

Kerry can win, if the national media continues to toe the party line.

Just did the math and the totals in all 10 states is around 7,714,000 voters. New York just had 650,000 voters. All these totals are way down from the 2000 primaries or general election.

Yet, CNN and the Media Left have given John eFing the keys to the kingdom!

Gad, these folks have no ethics nor can they count...

Thanks for the real numbers. I had a suspicion that these primaries were hyped. How come nobody's talking about the poor turn out for the demo-rat primaries? DUH!

I feel the same way. Overall when you tally up all the primaries, and discount the "crossover" votes which were cast to skew the results one way or the other, the "Democrat" turnout has been absolutely nothing to write home about. You must remember that "all" the media will never bring this up because such talk will just further turn off viewers, readers, etc. If I were John Kerry, looking at the independent vote, I would be worried big time. Kerry will go down bad in November. I learned a long time ago never to make a decision based on hate, anger, revenge and emotion! The Democrats have made their own bed, now let them lie in it!
