Here's to hoping that a crowd of fed-up motorists spot this maggot, drag him out of his vehicle, and stomp him flatter than a tortilla.

I think it's the only way it's gonna happen, to be honest. Or someone's gonna chase him and shoot his tires out then nail him as he tries to run.

This is a leftist. A real sniper would try and hit the same location on the target each time. The rear quarterpanel is the site of this shot. This is going to be some whacked out environmental nazi.

Thanks for the ping, Flutters.
Some of my male relatives have mentioned seeing if they can get deputized and just start doing a little "bounty hunting".
This is hitting very close to my family and friends, and several FReepers. Prayers for all of our safety.

Looks like the freak is heading South again. Rt. 23 is bad because it's only 2 lanes both ways, and especially during "rush hour" traffic is congested and slow. Here's the latest I could find:
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A van was struck by a bullet Wednesday afternoon on a local road, and investigators are trying to determine if the shooting is related to the series of shootings in the Columbus area, NewsChannel 4's Nancy Burton reported.
The van was reportedly shot on Route 23 south of Rathmell Road and north of Scioto Downs. A 32-year-old Pickaway County man said he heard a noise sometime between 1:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. He then checked the rear right side of his van. That's when he saw what appeared to be a bullet hole, NewsChannel 4's Duarte Geraldino reported.
A bullet was recovered from the van and was taken to a crime lab for analysis, Burton reported. Results could be returned Thursday.
Police used a helicopter and canines to search woods and a field on the southbound side of Route 23.
There is no word if this incident is connected to the series of shootings in the Columbus area. Two other shootings connected to the serial shooter occurred on Rathmell Road.

At least they retrieved the bullet. We'll know shortly if this one is linked or not. I'll tune in to the 11:00 news to see if there is any more information.

According to the Channel 4 website, this latest shooting was a hoax. They had the idiot in custody, and I hope they keep him there and throw away the key.

Van Shot On Route 23 A HoaxLaw Enforcement Searches Area
POSTED: 3:20 pm EST February 18, 2004
UPDATED: 9:45 pm EST February 18, 2004
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A man who originally said his vehicle was struck by a bullet Wednesday afternoon on a local road later confesses to law enforcement that it was a hoax, NewsChannel 4 reported.
Richard A. Adams III, 33, of Circleville, originally told police his van was shot on Route 23 south of Rathmell Road and north of Scioto Downs. He said he heard a noise sometime between 1:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. He then checked the rear right side of his van. That's when he saw what appeared to be a bullet hole, NewsChannel 4's Duarte Geraldino reported.
The man then drove to his home a few miles away and called 911.
However, later in the day police said Adams admitted that he shot his own van earlier in the day.
The serial shooting task force and other area agencies scoured the area near the shooting for evidence and a possible suspect. A bullet was recovered from the van and was taken to a crime lab for analysis. Police used a helicopter and canines to search woods and a field on the southbound side of Route 23.
Charges against Adams are pending. The Ohio State Police and the sheriff's offices in both Franklin and Pickaway counties could all press charges.
"Valuable time, resources and manpower were wasted because of this foolish action," said Franklin County sheriff Chief Deputy Steve Martin.

Here's the question: did he do it for attention or to get money from the victims of crime fund that exists in Ohio?
Looks like he got lots of attention and as of 9am this morning he's in the pokey for the hoax.
It's still not illegal to be stupid in the USA.

It's not illegal to be stupid but it's illegal to do stupid things, like break the law, out of stupidity.
Maybe the guy was covering for someone else, then thought otherwise. Maybe he is the culprit and trying to throw the cops off. (I doubt that, but anything is possible).

Just how much money DOES a Victim of Violent Crime get here? In April of 2003, my business neighbor was shot 5 times during a robbery. As of today, he hasn't received any money from the Crime Victims Fund. After a long recovery he finally went back to work in November. If it weren't for the local churches and our business association the man would have been financially ruined.

Why do people do these stupid things? Is 15 minutes of fame really that important to them? That is the big question. I can only speculate that they must be extremely mentally disturbed. I've tried to figure out why in the world the sniper would want to go around shooting at cars. After he is caught the media's interest will go away and a year from now the general public isn't going to give him a second thought. In the mean time, he'll be sitting behind bars for the rest of his life. The guy can't see past today.

This is going to be some whacked out environmental nazi. Hitting SUVs and pickups may be easier, but is it a coincidence that some of the shootings on I580 here in the People's Republic of Kaliforniastan have been pickups and SUVs?
