ABDUL QADEER KHAN, NUCLEAR SCIENTIST, PAKISTAN: It pains me to realize in retrospect, that my entire lifetime achievement of providing foolproof national security to my nation, could have been placed in serious jeopardy on account of my activities, which were based in good faith, but on errors of judgment, related to unauthorized proliferation activities.

Didn't see this interview last night - but always listen when Mansoor speaks. This should scare the H*LL out of everyone.

Interesting point that Mansoor briefed SANDY BERGER (of the famous Clinton machine) back in 2000 about this situation. Where is the media hue and cry of what did Clinton know and when did he know it? I know, dumb question. Let's see, if Clinton and his goons had paid attention in 2000, maybe we wouldn't be facing dirty bombs in 2004!!!

Also, did Brit and or his panel have any comments on the disgraceful WH press conference today regarding the Kerry media frenzy about "the Guard records"?

Any ideas who the other three countries are? How about Saudi Arabia, Syria and Iraq? Just guessing now.

One was described as an 'african country.' South Africa has been mentioned for being in the money chain, too.

African country? Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Sudan and Ethiopia are all in Africa, too. Selling to some of those governments, with their weak custodial systems is like selling to Al Qaeda direct.

This posted interview above relates to our discussion.

Can't believe we are giving Pakistan 3 billion in aid.

For that we should at least be able to haul off all their nukes and Khan.

A separate issue here, why is the American taxpayer giving 3 billion to Pakistan?

A complete disgrace that this money is being given to Pakistan.

3 billion also weakens the position that we can't do things due to their sovereignty.

Wonder if Lanny Davis got Pakistan started on this dole.

Oh come on people. John F'n Kerry said that all this stuff is exaggerated, over-hyped. In fact I had someone ask me why I would be afraid of WMD artillery shells in Tikrit when Iraq has no artillery here. (see IED)

Along that same line, what good is a nuke if you don't have a B-52 to drop it or an MX to deliver it.

/sarcasm

Which means that if they've got anything, they're going to want to speed up the timetable over which they try to use it, because they don't want anybody to be able to get their hands on the stuff that took them so long to be able to get into the place.

You were suggestion something along these lines, Trav.

China-Pak-North Korea-SAudi Arabia nexus. Can't bring down one without hitting the other.

If I were President Bush, I would go to Congress tomorrow and immediately announce, unconditionally and without any notice to Pakistan, that the $3 billion aid package, that the American taxpayers are footing the bill for, is now put on hold until General Musharraf provides all the evidence that is necessary.

Well I for one have been waiting for a week for this already

"This weekend, it was reported that the last several months, an anti-proliferation -- a secret team anti-proliferation has been in place in Pakistan helping to secure its nuclear materials. But that's only half the problem."

"The other half of the problem is that we've got to make sure that we find out where the hell all of this other stuff went."

It's PAKISTAN. We all know where "the other stuff" went.

I disagree. The $3 bil in aid to Pakistan was key in getting us operational rights and overflight rights there for Afghanistan; allows our CIA guys some access to their intel; no doubt "buys" us all sorts of unofficial access within Pak. It is key to getting intel about Bin Laden and is money well spent. Don't forget: this nation could easily topple and become another Iran if the crazies have their way. Mush. cannot come right out and say what he is giving us---they've already tried to assassinate him twice, and he doesn't want to lose support that he has. This is tricky business, which is why the "laundry" isn't being made public.

Which I think is just an absolutely unforgivable sin.

If I were Khan's wife, I'd sell everything I owned and buy all the life insurance that anyone would sell me. And if I were a life insurance company, I'd not sell her any.

This guy needs to sleep with the fishes, just as soon as the last piece of information is extracted from him as to who he dealt with.

I saw this interview and they left off something else Ijaz said in closing. See below in bold.

"IJAZ: I'm afraid not. There are at least three more countries that I can tell you for sure are on the list. I can't tell you which ones because of the investigations...and maybe 2 more.

Alarm Raised Over Possible Nuclear Links Between Burma, North Korea

"It is known that when the CIA arrived in Pakistan in the late fall of 2001, to interview Pakistani nuclear scientists about proliferation to Al Qaida, two of the most important ones (besides Kahn) "fled" Pakistan and became "fugitives" (under orders?) living "in exile" in Myanmar. Hmmmmmm!........ "
