Emailing myself reminder to do that right now Ohio! What a GREAT idea!
When the usual suspects start their anti-Bush spiel, we can use it as a Bush Cheney 04 fundraiser reminder! Just THINK of the cash we can generate, and on such a consistent basis. Heck, Bush-Cheney 04 may have to acknowlege the suspects as a major pro-campaign force.
It's perfect.

Kiddo, of course Bush says you rock. You're going to have all your future paychecks ripped to shreds when you grow up to pay for his "compassion." Ignorance, and thus youth, is bliss. That is what Robert A. Taft (Mr Republican) told my dad when FDR passed Social Security. You just wait, Bobby the Taft said, it will take all your money and you will be far worse off than you were before FDR enacted this curse on working people. You think things are great making 30 bucks a week? See how bad it is once this Socical Security thing costs 30 dollars a week and takes all your money. He was right Soical security costs did eventially go to 30 bucks a week. But it didn't take all of Dad's money to pay it. Thirty bucks was the cost of social security and it was also the of a meal for Dad and Mom... but thirty bucks for the meal did not include the tip.
Barry Goldwater(Mr Massive Loser) told me that I would not be able afford to have anything when I grew up ..... not if LBJ got Medicare inacted. My take home pay would be next to nothing if that rotten dirty LBJ enacted Medicare. Why in my old age, If LBJ got his way I would not even be able to afford a tooth pick. But not to worry, said Barry I would not be able to afford to eat anyway.
The problem with your we can't afford story is people like you have been playing that tune since 1933 and it has yet to come true.
But you assure us all that in 2030 the sky is going to fall. People like you have been making dire predictions that the the sky is going to fall since 1933. It has never fallen. Most of us doen't even bother to look up to see if it is falling any more. There is no sign of it falling. Now your side guarantees it will fall in 2020 or no later than 2030.
Those who are old enough or have read history have been hearing your sides dire predictions that never come true for 64 years.
AS for me, for the first 40 years I heard your dire predictions of the world ending before breakfast, I totally believed them. Your problem is this is year 41 and being wrong 40 out of 40 times can make some people believe that you are always wrong.
There are many arguments that you can make against medicare drugs. But saying we can't afford them or that our children can't afford them, has ben proven pattently untrue over and over and over for 3 generations
Lying about what this nation can or can't afford is stupid. How many lies can one tell before few if any believe you?
Three big problems with your analysis: Roe-v-Wade, birth control pills, and women choosing careers over children.
When Taft & Goldwater made their predictions, the indigenous population was still growing.
Since Roe-v-Wade and the mass embrace of narcissism amongst our women folk, the indigenous population has been shrinking rather dramatically. When the baby boomers start to retire [born 1946, turn 65 in 2011], all hell is gonna break loose as regards these entitlement programs.
Now you're gonna counter that the overall population has continued to climb due to immigration, but I'm gonna counter-counter with a very unpopular [but sadly true] observation: The immigrant population [with a very few exceptions, such as Russian Jews, Chinese Mandarins & Cantonese, Indians, &c] has, on average, a LOWER IQ than the indigenous population that it's replacing.
Whether this new, lower IQ pool of immigrants can be sufficiently productive to produce enough excess income to keep the Baby Boomers fat & happy in retirement is an open question: Maybe yes, maybe no.

Personally, I think little boys who spend all day lifting their legs on all things Bush in every possible context are the bigger threat to this site and conservatism in general

Hmm...that'd be a tough one. Not sure if it would be as fun to watch though as a match between those who wallow in intellectual dishonesty; the Bots versus the NOW kneepaders who forgave Bubba for any and all acts.

Just gave a hundred bucks Doctor Deb.
But don't be so hard on the disrupters. They have problems. You see their college major was masochism and the profs beat the living crap out of them for 3.9 years and then flunked them out.
To: KantianBurke
Create all the "intellectually dishonest" straw figures you want. This won't alter the fact that your demagogic hatefulness matches that of every radical feminist I have ever met. In fact, the object of your political disdain is the same as theirs -- 'nuf said!

GOOD parallel, Dr.....
Kantian Burke (and all his fellow haters) to the radical feminists.
Hate beyond reason. Exactly!
And I think this should be an ongoing campaign.
Whenever KB or his cronies launch their irrational spewing, make a call for a donation to the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign.
Either way, they'll think before they speak (if they are able) OR the President will get quite a tidy sum in donations. :o)

Well, I know that Bill and Hillary were not CLASSIC Red Diaper Babies (like David Horowitz) but Bill danced around Moscow and Eastern Europe during the height of the Cold War staying with prominent Communist families, and HIllary interned for the West Coast Communist Party lawyer in Berkeley and did her graduation term paper on Saul Alinsky who (if he wasn't a Communist) certainly was a fellow traveler. That's close enough for me. Besides, Goldwater ran when she was in high school -- she did a complete about face in college and beyond.

OK, I know Greenwich, New Canaan and the other nicer towns in Fairfield went for Bush in 2000. I also know very well why Bridgeport, Westport, New Heinous and Hartford went for the Goreon (as did the state as a whole). What was up with Litchfield County? I didn't think the Hollyweirdos actually voted up there and that the rural people still dominated, at least politically.

"They were the ones who invented shock and awe," Bush said, referring to the military slogan of the U.S. invasion of Baghdad. "They're all fine lads. They themselves were C students."LOL funny C students yet rose to the top of thier chosen feilds.

"I'd say your attitude is one of conservatism mugged by paranoia."
LOL!
Anyway, I've checked - Bush has CUT MY TAXES ... and dont give me this 'deficit' whine. what will pay for the deficit will be 4% + economic growth that eventually covers the tab.
In the meantime the deficit will help pressure the spenders to cut their freespending ways.
I will take a tax cutter over a tax raiser any day.
JMHO.

"I posted a legitimate remark. By his actions, the young are going to hit with high taxes that they weren't responsbile for. "
Legitimate but incorrect. Over time, economic growth that is higher will pay for the tax cuts many times over.
Moreover, you assume falsely that spending is static. Wrong. about $300 billion in extra spending has been proposed on the Kerry campaign (NTU numbers).
Bush had some proposals in his SOTU, but the new ones (eg abstinence sex ed) were modest and shifting of money from other programs. Others were tax cuts and rebates.
"Bush should be aplogizing to young rather than joking with them. "
Not if he wins the war on terror, puts conservative judges on the Federal courts, defangs lawsuit abuse, stands up to the UN, etc. etc.
