"Doctors called my miscarriage a spontaneous abortion."

Yes this is very important.

After a presentation I made last Fall, a physician stood up to make the added clarification between spontaneous "abortion" which is a miscarriage, and an elective or induced abortion.

A spontaneous "abortion" better known as a miscarriage is a sad unfortunate event. It is never brought about willfully by the mother. It is caused by some physiological problem with the child or some unintended trauma which causes him or her to perish. The parents of the child should not feel guilt because they are in no way guilty of any wrongdoing.

An elective or induced abortion is the premeditated, willful and deliberate taking of an Innocent life, it is nothing less than murder in the first degree.

My wife, though she was adamant that she never thought about it, never wanted children and couldn't even stand to hold our nieces and nephew.

Sounds like her feelings of guilt never went away. God bless her and God rest her soul.

I went through it with a girlfriend years ago myself. We broke up shortly before we found out. I believe she has married and has kids of her own. I hope she found peace and forgiveness as I have (although that wasn't easy and I still have bad feelings about it).

Thanks for sharing your story. People need to hear the truth. I am sure it is not easy for you to talk about. I hope you will find some peace. Perhaps you could share your story with young people, and help them see what you have learned. Best of luck to you.

Abortion is hard on men as well, and that needs to be talked about.

I have to admit that I have always been against abortion, I just never really had any reason besides my own moral obligation. Thanks for the links, now I have solid reasoning to support my moral objection. I will become more involved in this fight to put a stop to murder!

Thank you for sharing your story.

We should always remember that while elective abortion is a mortal sin--the Church, which IS a Loving Mother and the Bride of Christ, is always waiting with open arms to re-embrace Her children who return to Her in repentance.

Jesus IS the Divine Physician WHO heals all wounds.

Of the 43,000,000 abortions, I am sure D&C and embryonic pregnancy problems rank down at the a bottom of reasons women seek abortion. Much lower than oh say......birth control.

"Abortion is hard on men as well, and that needs to be talked about."

I agree. Fortunately I have never been in the postion to have to deal with an accidental pregnancy. If it ever comes up it would break my heart for the mother to have an abortion. It is amazing that both parties are not consulted and the men are powerless........

It is another example of the feminazi agenda. If men have to pay child support no matter and can be brought up on cahrges of murder for a child in uterus, IMO they should have the right to have a say in the killing of their child by the mother.

Women are given different treatment under the law. Women can kill, men cannot. That is not equal.

Where is NOW?

Yep. Men are just expected to sit back and let the feminazi movement decide for them every aspect of thier lives. Of course, I would prefer to have abortion made illegal all together, rather than forcing consent from the men involved, but I guess any incremental change is good.

Wow, what a ramble!

EVERY Freeper AND Lurker needs to see this 9-minute film on abortion.

(It’s FREE & on-line)

A January poll on Free Republic ended with 80% in favor of overturning Roe v Wade. That is great and makes me proud to be a Freeper.

I propose that if you have not seen the 9-minute documentary Hard Truth, then you might not fully appreciate the magnitude of what has happened 44+ MILLION times since Roe v Wade in 1973. That is the number of reported surgical abortions since 1973 in the US alone.

These important 9 minutes are worth more that a million words about the subject.

Go to Abortion Videos , at the NATIONAL AMERICAN HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL. Simply click “HERE” where it says: “You may view it online HERE”. I’d also ask for you to go back to the home page, stay a while and read about the facts.

The file size for the video is about 5mb, so if you don’t have broadband you’ll have to be patient. You might want to download it to your hard drive cause it will breakup if streaming from a slow connection. Also be sure to have your speakers on.

If you are one who thinks abortion is “OK”, or are one who is “on the fence” then this film is ESPECIALLY for you.

From the website: “It is perhaps the most powerful film ever produced on abortion. Actual footage of living, in-utero children and their aborted peers tell the hard truth about abortion in ways "just words" never will. Hard Truth packs such unprecedented power, viewers can scarcely watch without being profoundly affected. In total, the film is only nine minutes long, and except for the introduction, there is no narration.”

Again, go to Abortion Videos , at the NATIONAL AMERICAN HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL. Simply click “HERE” where it says: “You may view it online HERE”

I can speak with some authority here, as I have one adoptee, one in-vitro, and one natural birth child.

I went through two adoption fall throughs, and two miscarriages.

If you become pregnant, you have three, not two options:

1. Raise the child yourself.
2. Abort the child.
3. Have the child and put it up for adoption.

I, for the life of me, can't understand why some informed candidate for election hasn't stood up and said, "Look, what about adoption."

This requires 9 months of the mother, and the legal consent of the father to the adoption.

Compare that to a lifetime of dealing with the fact that you murdered your baby in the womb.

There are waiting lists for domestic adoptions in the US. It is expensive, and massively difficult to adopt, not to mention emotionally wrenching.

Adoption is the slavery issue of our day. We have no business claiming any high moral ground on the issue of human rights while guaranteeing the right to abortion.

The specific, non-religious answer to your question has no scientific answer, but it can be answered with another rhetorical question:

"What would be the normal biological result of the gestation process if not otherwise terminated?"

After the cells start to divide, if left to term, what do you get?

If you try to address the question as you've posed it, then you set humans up to determine at what nanosecond would a fetus be able to survive, even if barely, outside the womb?

You might as well start deciding at which point old people are consuming more resources than their existance can justify. This is exactly where we are today. Abortion put us on that slope, and we are on the way down it.

Yes, but remember it is not for me to forgive. That I leave up to God.

I have much more sympathy for the Men involved than the women. For women it nears close to 0 sympathy.

The woman has the life growing inside her, men can not completely understand that, nor do I expect them to have the instinct to protect the unborn, as much as I expect that from a woman, in the case of abortion.

Sexist? You bettcha.

Women are responsible for what happens to their bodies, ( save rape and true medical cases), and that is where the responsibility lies; With women.

Lots of empathy. I still struggle with the fact that I think that I could have tried harder to change her mind before she went off and did it.
