JP, I notice that you post news stories as "activism", when they are not. They are either news or editorials.

"[Bush] has been sacrificing the conservatives to get to the middle,” said Brandon Swalley, director of the Free Republic Network

A question to Brandon, would you rather have nothing from a Kerry, Clark, or Edwards, or tax cuts, a war against terror, a PBA ban, nomination of conservative judges, provisions of privatization in the medicare bill, a President who is pushing tort reform and not in the pocket of the trial lawyers, a President who doesn't let the UN dictate foreign policy or economic policy.

Just my opinion Brandon, but you will be sacrificed a lot more if you help a Kerry, Clark, or Edwards, get into the White House.

Conservatives are also concerned about the president's proposal, announced earlier this month, to grant citizenship to millions of illegal immigrants working in the United States, and say the expansion of government has taken a toll on efforts to protect privacy.

Now, is granting citizenship really part of the proposal or is this just sloppy journalism? As they say... you decide.

I am not to fond of being in the position of "screwed if you do and screwed if you don't. When you are hurt by your enemies, it actually feels better than when you are hurt by your friends.

I remember the Dems howling about Clinton signing onto welfare reform and a few other positions, into which he was more or less, forced into by the conservative groundswell in 94. All I remember is that the Clinton administration was one of pure evil (somewhat in the same way that the Dems view the current administration, no matter how much it reaches for the middle, which I view as the left.

I have seen no change in the general direction of politics and the general wellness of our nation, in the last 35 years. I have seen very few of our leaders, of either party, actually accomplish something of worth.

If anyone here does not like the direction the Bush Administration is taking, call, write, fax or e-mail the White House. Believe me, the President keeps in mind those objections that are directed at his policies, because nobody is totally infallible, and describing and explaining alternatives may go far to polish and reinvigorate thinking.

It is not necessarily that Bush has abandoned his base. Occasionally, in the struggle to reconcile sometimes totally contradictory points of view, several of the original threads of logic become entangled or even lost, and it is not so much informing the President, as it is reminding him of something he already knew.

Conservatives are stuck on the Republican Plantation just as Blacks are on the Democrat.....

That new mantra from you all is a ridiculous comparison. Blacks are taken for granted and patronized by the demos.

Please tell me how tax cuts, a PBA ban, cutting back enivromental(such as logging on federal lands) and OSHA regulations, not kowtowing to the UN, etc. etc. is patronizing?

Let's not leave Congress out of the loop - many of these issues will take more than one session to be drawn and quartered. Although I don't like the appearance of Bush pandering to the anti-Bush crowd - seems to be the politics of today. I will still vote for him rather than stay home and let my non-vote go to the demos.

Yeah, we know your drill.

The fact is people are unhappy on several fronts. It is much more important that the administration finds out NOW rather then when election results come in, that there there is a growing dissatisfaction with his policies.
