US lobster becomes impotent in Norway: can not cope with european females

The American lobster fails to "get it on" with European female lobsters.
This will probably save the European population of lobsters.
Norwegian fishermen caught American lobsters within the Oslo fjord.
Scientists who warned that the european species risked beeing jostled out because of the import of the American relative, now sound the all-clear according to TT (Tidningarnas Telegrambyrå).
The courting of the American lobster male runs smooth, until it is time for the finale. Then the male suddenly becomes unsure - since he does not recognise the anatomy of the female lobster.

I know how that poor lobster feels... I've been unable to recognize the anatomy of some female Europeans, too.

It's probbaly the smell. Deodorant-disdaining European females turn off a lot of American males that way.

I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me.
She showed me her room, isnt it good, norwegian wood?
She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere,
So I looked around and I noticed there wasnt a chair.
I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine.
We talked until two and then she said, "its time for bed".
She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didnt and crawled off to sleep in the bath.
And when I awoke I was alone, this bird had flown.
So I lit a fire, isnt it good, norwegian wood.

Everyone knows that female European lobsters never use deodorant and have a lot of hair growing under thair claws.
Beside that a lot of them are ugly.

OoooooKay...
Just out of curiosity, why doesn't someone import Maine lobstah to the waters off the Pacific Northwest?
I'd be willing to bet they'd thrive in the cold waters. They would be a good commercial harvest.
Having the population in two locations is insurance against disaster. If disease or pollution (remember the anti-West Nile mosquito Malathion spray wiped out the Hudson River population?) destroys the Maine stocks, the Oregon/Washington/British Columbian stocks could replenish them, in much the same way the California grape stocks replaced the french vines after they were wiped out by disease in the 19th century.

Sorry to bug you
I might be awfully wrong here but isn't this a form of speciation?
Unable to produce viable offspring because the male doesn't recognize the female anymore?
Hope you can clear this.

I might be awfully wrong here but isn't this a form of speciation? Unable to produce viable offspring because the male doesn't recognize the female anymore? Sounds like speciation. Not a major discovery, I suspect. These things happen. I'm notifying a few of the regulars, but not ringing any bells.
