This incident helps me remember another jumping incident that took place several years ago on the freeway that goes over the mountains east of Seattle. I'm sharing it, because it is a good safety tip...

On a foggy and dark night, a motorist broke down on what he thought was the side of the road. There was a small solid concrete wall probably two or three feet high on the far side of the shoulder.

He jumped over the wall (probably to get away from traffic, or to fetch something). However, the wall was part of the overpass he was broken down on. The motorist fell to the ravine below and died.

I'm afraid legal proceedings against the police will start soon.

I am reflecting on the Philadelphia Bridge cop who arrived on the scene of an accident on the Ben Franklin Bridge which blocked traffic in both directions. It seems a stray dog who found himself in the middle of the span got spooked and ran out in traffic causing a pile-up. The fine officer greeted the pooch, held him safely in his arms, then threw him off the 800' high span into the Delaware River below.

The cop had to draw his gun to prevent the same fate from the witnesses. It became a standoff and was only dispersed after promises were made to prosecute the cop.

Hey the guy saved the taxpayers the expense of keeping him in jail. Too bad that more criminal scum don't emulate this one.

"It's absolutely moronic if you ask me. It's moronic to carjack someone in the first place and to jump into traffic, even stupider,"

Probably a democrat.

My wife traveled to Seattle last week after Portland was closed due to ice. She was then driving down from Seattle in a rental car.

There was an accident on the side of a four laner on some mountain pass and she slowed down to avoid emergency vehicles. Someone going too fast hit her from behind and pushed her into oncoming traffic consiting of an eighteen wheeler tanker truck which crushed her car. She had to cut her out of the wreckage.

She is very sore and now in Portland, terrified to drive anywhere. Some town called Astoria? She comes home on the 25th.

"Can you believe how utterly stupid some people can be?"

Hey, when you watch movies like 'The Matrix', "Crouching Tiger. . ., 'Jackass The Movie', perception IS reality. "

Hmmmm. . . kinda reminds of the democrat/lib credo: Perception IS reality, to these people . . .

Gee, I wonder if there is a connection (snicker, snicker). . .

they wondered what the suspect could have been thinking when he did it.

I'd put the odds there were drugs in his system at close to 100%.

Oh Brian, I nominate you for the quote of the day.

Plenh stunned police by jumping off the overpass - and landing on southbound I-5 below. He was hit by several cars and died at the scene.

Something like this happened in Phoenix a few years ago. A carjacker led police on a chase and, at the intersection of the 101 and 202 freeways, parked on one of the high connector ramps and jumped over the side. The interchange is, after all, built in the middle of the Salt River. He figured to make his escape by swimming. After all, this was how he came to America in the first place. But he forgot two important facts:

1. The interchange is 60 feet above the river;
2. The Salt River doesn't have any water in it.

Almost sounds like the chase BOORTZ talked about seeing once, a guy got ejected from a SUV right into oncoming lanes, he has just enough time to look up to see a truck hit him in the face.

PS. If any GA FReepers out there know what I'm talking about and have a link please link it. Thanks.
