Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is ruling out the prospect of returning to America to raise her child - because she deems her homeland too dangerous. The Oscar winning beauty - who is pregnant with her husband Chris Martin 's baby - has been living in London since settling down with the Coldplay star, and she has no intention of bringing up their child in a threatening environment. She says, "I worry about brining up a child in America. At the moment there's a weird, over-patriotic atmosphere over there, like, 'We're number one and the rest of the world doesn't matter.' And the guns in school - it's not great."

Another Hollyweirder leaving for Britain. She and Madonna are friends so they obviously think alike. The truth is that their careers are going down the tubes and they are not being offered jobs. Maybe they are lesbo lovers?
Buh bye...

You might wanna check the crime rate in London airhead. Oh wait, you probably have armed bodyguards. You're not one of the little folk.

Maybe this is the start of a trend. Now if Aiec Baldwin and Martin Sheen would follow, maybe take Rosie O'Donnell and Babs with them?

Not soon enough. I wish about 200 more hollywood communists would join her.

How disappointing. I thought she came from a decent, traditional, loving family. Turns out she's an utter fool. Oh well - - good riddance.
To: BushisTheMan
I'd be more excited if I thought she actually meant what she said. Like the Baldwin she's full of hot air and is speaking for effect. She'll be back here before you know it.

She is an idiot.
She is referring to something she likely heard from some friends at a party.
Nationalistic is the words she is looking for, the implication being that we are becoming overly nationalistic (ie. Germany circa 1935).
It is a wildly liberal intellectual theory bandied about every time a little Patriotic jigglism pops up in the media or along main street USA or when a Republican is in the White House.

The Oscar winning beauty - who is pregnant with her husband Chris Martin 's baby - As opposed to... Madonna's love child? Why did the author see a need to explain that yes indeed, the father of baby is the same person as the husband? How do they really know this?
To: BushisTheMan
She can go. But if Liv Tyler decides to leave, I am going to get ticked.

Yes, I realized afterward that my words may be taken wrong, and I apologize. I have never been of the belief that that word was intended as an insult for the child, but rather for the parents. However, I can see where it would look otherwise.

How disappointing. I thought she came from a decent, traditional, loving family. Turns out she's an utter fool. Oh well - - good riddance. she's hollywood-privileged... she can afford to believe that utter nonsense... she's above the masses... (i've always admired her mother Blythe Danner as an actress)...

To: Thinkin' Gal
Why did the author see a need to explain that yes indeed, the father of baby is the same person as the husband? maybe because she was pregnant before they married... they might want to let us know that they did finally get married... they eloped, so it might not be common knowledge...
To: BushisTheMan
Let's see, another overrated, loud-mouth, bony-butt, twit with delusions of grandeur decides to live abroad. I'll try to live through it all.

"Oscar winning beauty?" I have never understood the liberal media's adoration of Ms. Paltrow. I've never found her beautiful and she certainly didn't deserve her oscar.
Cate Blanchett was brilliant in "Elizabeth."

Hey Gwyneth, if Madonna's Mansion in Britain can be robbed, yours can too. I'd compare the safety of the average person being mugged in L.A. , to that happening in Britain, and you're well on your way to being mugged over there ( did you know the cops don't carry guns in Britain darling? What will you do when your intruder sticks a gun in your face, and you know NO ONE is coming to help you with any force,HMMM?) and the USA humbly thanks you for not making anymore movies too. Now just shut your piehole and go raise your child in your 'allegedly' peaceful surroundings. LOL

1993: IRA bomb devastates City of London A massive bomb has ripped through the heart of the City of London, killing one and injuring more than 40. The explosion shook buildings and shattered hundreds of windows, sending glass showering down into the streets below. A mediaeval church, St Ethelburga's, collapsed; another church and Liverpool Street underground station were also wrecked. The cost of the damage has been estimated at more than £1bn.
Police had received coded warnings, but were still evacuating the area when the bomb went off. Most of those injured were security guards, builders and maintenance staff, and those who had come into their offices to work at the weekend. Police said the bomb was hidden in the back of a dark blue tipper truck, parked in Bishopsgate. It was home-made, with about a ton of fertiliser - similar to the bomb which devastated the Baltic Exchange a year ago, killing three people. Repairs to the Exchange had just been completed, and the building re-opened, when the same banks were damaged again by today's blast. One of those injured, security guard Raymond Fayers, said, "We were all surprised that they picked the same hotspot again. Every night, virtually, we get some sort of scare, but we didn't expect them to do it again in the same area." The dead man was found under rubble during a five-hour search of debris near where the bomb went off. He has not yet been identified. City back in business on Monday Police say they are in no doubt that the bomb was planted by the IRA, although the organisation has not said it carried out the attack. The explosion comes just over a month after the Warrington bomb, which killed two children. The IRA expressed its regret after the outcry that followed. Commander David Tucker, of the Anti-Terrorist Squad, said, "We had hoped after the deaths in Warrington that there would be some sort of turning point, but that seems to be not the case." The area around the site of today's blast remains sealed off, but the Lord Mayor of London has promised that the City will be back in business on Monday.

The dead man was later identified as 34-year-old Ed Henty, a freelance photographer working for the News of the World. He was married with two children. Directly after the explosion the government threw what it called a "ring of steel" around the City, with roadblocks in and out of the financial district. Security in the area remains high. The damage caused by the Bishopsgate bomb cost £350m to repair. The huge payouts by insurance companies contributed to a crisis in the industry, including the near-collapse of the world's leading insurance market, Lloyd's of London. The IRA carried out one more major attack on London's financial centre. In 1996, after a year-long ceasefire, it planted a bomb in Canary Wharf in the Docklands area. Two died and many more were injured. A second ceasefire has held since 1997 and opened the way for the IRA's political wing, Sinn Fein, to join multi-party talks on the future of Northern Ireland.
