The Constitution Party demands that the federal government restore immigration policies based on the practice that potential immigrants will be disqualified from admission to the U.S. if, on the grounds of health, criminality, morals, or financial dependence, they would impose an improper burden on the United States, any state, or any citizen of the United States.

We oppose the provision of welfare subsidies and other taxpayer-supported benefits to illegal aliens, and reject the practice of bestowing U.S. citizenship on children born to illegal alien parents while in this country.

I am praying that God would bless the efforts of the Constitution Party to restore an accountable government that protects our borders.

Thanks for the input. I wonder how much the government payroll is going to increase running a "bracero" program?

Far less than it would with trying to actively deport 8-12 million illegals.

Or do you WANT to stop every fifty miles on the road to show your papers to the surly unionized "border guard?"

With the TWENTY BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR we would save I believe we could afford to deport the illegals and secure the borders don't you??? hmmmmmmm

Even Sabertooth has stated that it would 100 BILLION DOLLARS a year to maintain the type of border you want.

Take a look at the most fortified border in the world, the 100 mile Korean border. 750,000 conscripted South Koreans man that border. Now multiply that by 20 for the US/Mexican border.

If it comes down to it I do trend toward the Constitution Party.

Before this issue the major diff between us and them was defense of the US.

We cannot talk any longer debate our now shared views on big govt and welfare/medicare.

OK!

How does this immigration program make US safer?

"When this country had problems trying to properly identify a few thousand people, how is it going to do the same with a few million?"

"They said only 2,000 agents are available to review the millions of applicants that might be submitted."

You know what? If I had to, I'd clean toilets to make ends meet. Not a darn thing wrong with that. I'd flip burgers too. Quit acting as if jobs are not worth doing unless you're getting more than minimum wage. There was a time in 2000 when I was getting pretty desperate for anything while waiting for something better paying to come around.

There are plenty of High School kids who can work these jobs if they were available. I see 60 year old men working in McDonald's! Non-english speakers. These use to be the jobs our kids learned on.

Actually, multiply it by thirty--because you're going to have to guard the coastlines up to 500 miles away from the US-Mexican border termination points in San Diego and Matamoros.

Truman was very cooperative in this endevour and likewise forced hundreds of thousands of Soviet Citizens back to the Soviet Union to a certain Gulag term or just outright execution.

Huh? Where did you pull that quip from. I'll say your posterior orifice.

That's ridiculous when one 14-mile wall shifted the exodus from California to Arizona.

The DMZ in Korea is 150 miles and I don't think it would cost any where near 100 billion a year to patrol and secure the Mexican border. The Soviets managed to keep their people from escaping that country over the longest border in the world for a hell of lot less than 100 billion a year.

That's ridiculous when one 14-mile wall shifted the exodus from California to Arizona.

Actually, it shifted the exodus from San Ysidro, California (actually in the City of San Diego) to the East County of San Diego--not an entire state, not even into the next county.

The problem is that wherever you DON'T guard will become the new point of entry, so you have to guard ALL of the border.

Well good for you, I applaud your work ethic. There are plenty of toilet cleaning jobs, though. If there wern't they wouldn't be being filled by people crossing the border.

Yeah. You ready for how they did it? They made the countries around them into "buffer states" with Communist governments just as oppressive as the USSR's.

Let's not do that.

Try a google search on Soviet Citizens handed over to the Soviets after WWII by American and British occupation forces. You might be surprised.

The problem is that we cannot do ENOUGH such enforcement to actually deter illegal immigration, absent a huge increase in the government payroll and the intrusiveness of law enforcement.

Heck, in theory we'd have to come up with a slew of new things like 20,000 unionized TSA employees, Patriot Acts, CFR restrictions, 30% increases in descretional spending...

THEY could never happen!

Thanks, FRiend. Reading this honestly gave me the biggest chuckle I've had all day. I thought I'd deja vu'd.

Yeah they shot them, also they had the buffer zone of their eastern european puppets. I guess you never heard of the term "Iron Curtain".

We have extremists. They simply have to listen up. When you are an extremist of any political persuasion, you will NEVER EVER get what you want. The best you will ever be able to do is minimize displeasure. Period. No avoiding it. It is what it is.

You have nowhere else to go. You vote for Dean or stay home or vote 3rd party and you elect a Democrat and your displeasure is maximized. You vote for Bush and your displeasure is minimized.

This is not rocket science.
