We have the highest rate of structural unemployment in U.S. history next to the great depression (that is, jobs disappearing permanently as opposed to going away for short periods due to seasonality and cycles). BIG difference. Also the total govt. % of unemployed will ROCKET in future business cycles when we include all the illegals the WH wants to include. It will bring our % into line with the higher "historical" norm you speak of -- and, after a few business cycles, into line with the worst performing economies of the world. This is the agenda, after all...a race to the bottom of a single integrated global market.
