MAKHACHKALA - A group of terrorists - which killed seven border guards and took several others hostage in Tsunti region, Dagestan on Dec. 15 - was eliminated over the weekend in a special military operation, according to official reports. The final stage of the operation was conducted by special forces of the Ministry of Defense.

Top defence-ministry officials based in the Caucasian region told reporters that the terrorists had been killed, stressing that none of the over 30 insurgents who crossed the Chechnya-Dagestani borders on Dec. 15 could make their retreat into the neighboring countries - Georgia or Azerbaijian - as they had planned. Three survivors were arrested during the operation.

On interrogation, the captives said some Chechen band members who had intended to surrender, were killed by the Arabs.

Meanwhile, military officers say the group of 37 fighters, mainly of Arab nationality, was on its way to Georgia, where it had planned to hide during the winter period, when it was intercepted and bombed heavily by both ground and air forces. Large quantities of weapons were later found in the cave where the group had holed up.

I don't think they ever wanted to see those boys get a second chance to come at them. Now they won't.

My guess - never! The majority of russians doesn't want to put on thier shoulders that sack of problems. They already had it and got rid of it for good.
