Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 Bush Might Accept Nomination in Yankee Stadium
President Bush might add another distinction to the legendary "House that Babe Ruth Built" by accepting the Republican presidential nomination at Yankee Stadium.
World renowned as the arena where Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and more of baseball's greatest players broke records and won world series after world series, Yankee Stadium is being eyed by organizers of the 2004 Republican National Convention as an ideal site to host Bush's acceptance speech.
According to the New York Post, the possiblity was raised to reporters by Jeff Kent, an organizer of the convention, when members of the media came to New York for a preview of the convention.
The Post reports that Kent sent out an e-mail asking members of the media to "ponder how you would want to cover an acceptance speech at Yankee Stadium."

Bush the Elder made his acceptance speech, and Ronald Reagan made his farewell speech at the Superdome, so why not?

The only thing that worries me is that, as a Red Sox fan, I'm afraid the RATS might be inspired to use Fenway for Dean's acceptance speech.

Please excuse the nitpicking: The pics in posts #5 and #6 are actually pictures of Bush throwing out the first pitch at a Milwaukee Brewers game, not the World Series at Yankee Stadium.
In the photo of post #5 you can see the first few letters of the Brewers logo in the upper right hand corner; and 620 WTMJ is a Wisconsin radio station. The photo in post #6 is a close-up of the same thing. (Notice that Bush is wearing different clothing from the photo in post #7, which is a pic of the World Series pitch.)

Yep, you are right, they were the only pics I could find of our CINC throwing a pitch. Merry Christmas and please write the White House about W throwing out the first pitch of the 2004 season in the ball-park most visited by residents of our nation's capital - Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

"Oriole Park at Camden Yards" Pffft!!
He should through out the first pitch at Prince William Stadium. I think they still play ball there.
Merry Christmas my friend. Glad to see you back amongst the living. Hope you're ready from some demos when the Hildabeast enters the race, as she most surely will.
for some demos

Not a very good picture, but one of Bush throwing out the first pitch at the 2001 College World Series in Omaha. Was there for the game. What a great moment. He went around and shook hands with the ballplayers. I recall that he threw the pitch to the Stanford catcher and then shook hands. He skipped the umps and the crowd started laughing and you could see in his body language it was unintentional. He went back and shook the umps hands and the crowd went nuts. He's the real deal.

And what a moment it was.
I always wondered how the President felt to fulfill a lifelong dream (pitching in a world series) ..??
