December 19, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - Assassins targeted the top U.S. civilian in Iraq shortly after he visited Saddam Hussein in prison on Sunday - and investigators are probing whether Saddam's spies in the U.S. command aided the attack, sources told The Post. Papers found in Saddam's briefcase when he was captured included a list of his spies working undercover with Americans in Iraqi security forces and in the Coalition Provisional Authority, which oversees civilian affairs in the country, ABC News reported.

No one should be surprised at this. Our military is relying heavily on info from Iraqi citizens to find these remaining elements. Some bad guys will get through our defenses and cause some problems, it is going to happen. If this continues, I would start to worry. But I would bet it will get easier now that they have Saddam in custody.

"We were badly infiltrated," a U.S. official told the network ... As long as they were politically correct and didn't offend anyone when they were selecting people for the security forces, that's all that matters.

It's a darn good thing they captured Saddam when they did. Intelligence sources say that he was going to use the $750,000 they found to get plastic surgery and disappear forever.
He even had a picture of what he wanted to look like. This is unbelievable.

This is precisely why Un and multinational forces should not be joining us in Iraq. Those units would just become infected with spies who's real purpose would be to pass on American intelligence and troop movements to the enemy.
That is why the democrats are screaming for the involvement of other nations. It assures a quagmire.

A few things interest me here. With the pervasive penetration of the Coalition HQ we still located and captured Hussein.. Were we aware of the Baathist activity and used disinformation to keep Hussein in the dark as to our knowledge of his location?
Do we really have a factual knowledge of the identities of Hussein's spies, or are we using his capture to claim such knowledge in the hopes of fracturing the network as its members scoot away to avoid what they think is imminent arrest?
David Kay was leaving Iraq at the end of the month due to a family situation
The *situation* is that his family wants him home alive. All Americans over there need our prayers.
To: MEG33
Iraqi spies, if caught, need to be executed, no questions asked. Serious stuff. Zips in the wire.

Great! You may not be that far off.
The Nation Of Islam has been providing body guards to the Perv and is solidly in his corner.
Amazing how this perverted POS spent most of his adult life trying to become white, and when the charges were filed against him. He becomes a Black Muslim member of the Nation of Islam.

Hahahaha, Tom is busy making like a potted palm. He may be hunkered down in that bomb shelter he pushed and shoved blue haired ladies out of his way to get into on 9-11 when other congressmen and senators where on the steps of the Capitol building singing "God Bless America".
This fiesty little terrier wasn't merely trying to save his own worthless hide on that day, no, he was fearlessly sniffing out the bunkers on behalf of his fellow citizens. And lo and behold he uncovered Bush's shadow government, hiding in that self same bunker.
I'm sure Tiny Tom is somewhere undercover, hot on the trail of Americas "real" enemies and guarding the nation's best interest.

Here is Nick Ashton's article --
CLICK. On the road between the airport and teh CPA, there are a couple of overpasses. Bad guys hide behind the concrete and come out firing. The area is nicknamed RPG ALLEY.
The CPA has pictures all over about people who had been given passes, became suspects, and are now not allowed to enter the building.
The MCI phone system is costing us over a million dollars a month. They finally had to switch off 500 cell phones, some of which were used for international calling. The Iraqi-American pizza guy in town was using one of our cell phones for free after he paid 500 bucks for it.

Well, there was something like a 14-hour delay between the actual capture time and news release. That could have given the Intel people a significant lead on using names/info found in the documents Saddam had in his possession.

I don't know that for sure but it seems unlikely they could have followed all the leads in 12 hours. I would suspect many of the leads led to people that led to many more leads.
