Right on. If there was ever a contrived war with no US national or strategic interests, this was it. The Europeans couldn't take care of something in their own backyard. It took the US to do it, but only after 76 days of bombing killing thousands of innocent civilians.

The idea that German, French, and other international troops can do the job in Iraq is ludicrous. Bosinia and Kosovo show how powerless they really are without the US logistic base. No other country has the ability to project its power around the globe except the US. More coalition troops means more support provided by the US including paying 24% of the costs for UN peacekeepers.

Kosovo was Albright's and Holbrooke's war. They were motivated by their personal animus toward's Milosevic and Clinton's desire to be a wartime President (without casualties). We set a poor precedent of getting involved in a domestic dispute and supporting a terrorist organization like the KLA. Kosovo is part of Serbia. The temporary solution in Kosovo that Clark is so proud of will eventually fall apart and we will pay a price for this intervention in the future. It is already costing us billions for an operation that Clinton promised would be over in a year.

Glad to hear it (thanks for your Service)...and who better to hear it from than those, like you, who were there. The American media did a fine job of keeping the history of this region...and the details of this war, hidden from the American people. The nerve of people like Christane Amanpour to outright claim that the US media was "carrying the water" for the Bush WH in Iraq, when Amanpour herself (and many others), was an ardent supporter of the Kosovo War, was disgusting.

Exactly...and if the news reports I read from that region were correct, our one-time Christian allies in Serbia/Kosovo, turned to Saddam and Iraq for financial and military assistance. So not only did we create some new enemies, we took the side of the very people who also want to destroy us. The same people, who as we were supporting them, were getting aid and assisatance from OBL/AQ and the Mullahs in Iran. Of course, Democrat foreign policy is never challenged in the same way Republican foreign policy is.
