Every male member of my family going back to the first world war served in uniform. Talking to those still living, not a one thinks what this man did was proper.
Standing by while your men beat a prisoner.......

What did they do to our POWs?"He did something morally wrong, so it's OK if I do something morally wrong."
That's your best argument?

And nuking hiroshima and nagasaki was correct? ROTFLMAO...I'm ex military and I know that the problem with the military is that too many officers think they are legislators.
They're commanders first. Politics and War = Vietnam & North Korea. Let's leave the job of kicking ass to those who kick it and leave the job of panzies to that of politics.

He'll make that up in speaking fees on the first night.
You are correct. I am sure he has an agent right now looking for a book deal. Good for him and I would take advantage of the predicament the military put him in also.

While I am glad the officer did what he did, in this the end justifying the means, there is no doubt that what he did
was wrong. Wasn't the man who was being questioned a civilian?
I am sure that the Lt. Col. knew what he did was wrong before he did it. I admire him for doing it. I believe he will say so now that the thought of a court-martial is gone.
There are rules to interrogation, We at least should try to abide by them, or not complain when our forces get the same treatment.
Does any commissioned officer disagree with me?

COUNT ME IN........... but I doubt man of Lt. Col West's character would accept the offer. He did his duty; to protect the men in his charge! He saved their lives and IMHO upheld his oath. I wish him ALL that he deserves in his retirement. God Bless Lt. Col WEST!!

Unless we have men on the battle field, coming to a home near you, we shall lose this islamist Terror war.
No fear of arrest, often at a significat increase in standard of living, islamofodder has no excitement much less fear of our arrest.
Apparently, we can't handle the truth.
Making nice with gentlemanly codes will get countless warriors and f** a** civilians and their children killed and maimed all over this world.
This MAN should be elected to national office, especially if he replaces a RINO.
We must be at total war because our mortal enemies are.

Give it a break. The battlefield is where you kill people and break things. Morality does not come into play.

Ditto and it's no place for conciencance objecting officers either.

Yep. He needs to retire as soon as his rotation is over and capitalize on his fame while his name is well known.
