How long before Santa is tossed out of shopping malls and department stores? His presence might confuse impressionable young children.

The tree came down because there were members of the law school community who thought it was divisive and inappropriate. Supreme Court Jesterces in training no doubt...

But it does appear that the City Of Kensington, Maryland learned its lesson from a couple years back:
"Join us as we celebrate the holiday season on Friday, December 5 at 7 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Park in front of the Prevention of Blindness Shop. Santa Claus will arrive on a KVFD fire truck to light an evergreen tree, donated by St. Paul's United Methodist Men and Sewell's Farm in Taneytown. Following Santa's visit, enjoy holiday music sung by members of Kensington Arts Theatre. Stand by a warm fire and enjoy delicious cookies, hot chocolate and cider."
They still don't want to call it "Christmas", which is OK I guess, since Kensington has a very large Jewish population.

The backlash about this issue is building. How much longer will people allow the leftwing elites to get away with treating Christmas as if it's a dirty word? They always seem to trot out this mysterious group of people who 'might be offended", do they even exist? Do they have some tenured radicals on the payroll that can always be counted on to be "offended" by the things the average American reveres' like God and the flag?. It surely isn't a majority of people, not in most places anyway.
The only way to counter this is for people to develop an "I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE" attitude, and start expressing how badly we are offended by this disrespectful treatment of our religion.
Just stand up to the PC Nazis, refuse to go along with it. Go out of your way to wish people "Merry Christmas" at work and in school. When they try to stifle you, stand up to them. The reason they get away with this is that they declare policy, and we back down and grumble to ourselves. Maybe it's time to let them know that Christians get offended too, and that this has to stop.

Just who ARE these people who feel excluded? Why don't they speak up? Its always some a$$hole saying someone "might" feel excluded or threatened or shat upon by the depiction of a Christmas display.

These same law school leftists who brand a Christmas tree as "..not being inclusive of all people." seem to have no problem giving race based preferences in admission to their hallowed institutions. What hypocracy!

by this disrespectful treatment of our religion I was being presumptuous here. I know that we aren't all Christians. I would hope our Jewish brethren could also be persuaded to support a desire to see this shameful treatment of the Christianity, just as we, for the most part, support them in their desire for respect and fair treatment.

The ACLU has filed a complaint against the Baldwin City schools for allowing a Santa Claus impersonator to visit young students and share with them the true story of Christmas...But they would have no problems whatsoever having a female impersonator to visit young students and share with them the true story of his perversion. Ya gotta love the ACLU!

The joke's on the university. Ain't nothing Christian about a "Christmas tree". It's a pagan symbol, pure and simple. They were confused by its name. Not surprising for an institution of "higher learning".
If they used their brains a bit, they'd eliminate Santa Claus, because Santa Claus is a form of "Saint Nicholas" which would send their heads spinning in anti-Christian hate.

An encouraging word from the Left Coast:
Yesterday as I was standing in line at the post office to get my Christmas stamps, the sounds of real Christmas carols wafted throughout the lobby . . . sounds of Silent Night, Joy to the World, etc. One of the postal clerks had a small CD player at her station, and she was playing the music. The line was looooooong, yet no one objected ... no one seemed offended. It was like the "old days" when everyone seemed to be full of Christmas cheer.
This is the same post office where, last year, another clerk congratulated me for requesting religious Christmas stamps. He told me then that he tried to make a point of saying "Merry Christmas" to customers and not just "happy holidays" (even though he said he had been instructed by his boss NOT to say Merry Christmas).
I will not mention the exact post office in case the PC police are monitoring this post.)

"The tree came down because there were members of the law school community who thought it was divisive and inappropriate. The school will be putting up another holiday decoration to replace it---I think today--if at all possible. There were individuals who believed that the tree sent the wrong message to the law school community and would make some people feel excluded." Oh, for crying out freakin' loud.
People have got to be getting sick of all this nonsense.
