In this instance, I think it's better to just ignore him.

Agreed. Treat him like a Troll.

In the end, the only people that will buy his product are disoriented teens. And they grow up eventually. Since his appeal cannot last he will fade and will be replaced by another.

He will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

I agree. The stations that play him won't buckle. I think his fifteen minutes are almost up anyway. I'd say his latest move is evidence that he knows it's coming to an end. Let him have his nihilistic constituency. Let's face it, his core audience and its' values are one of the greatest problems we face-- liberalism has borne some really rotten fruit, and he is one of them.

Of course, he had a junkie mother and an absentee father-- the kid is a basket case and a hater and he can have his loser minions.

Perhaps.

But then the majority of any market(other than country music or gospel, MAYBE classical) is going to be perceived as lefty or apolitical.

If you haven't noticed, even many of our fellow FReepers have some strange ideas when it comes to liberty.

If his audience is remotely similar, at least some of the lefty sacred cows are not held in high regard by them.

That's more than you can say for much of the Hollywood "market."

I think it's a good rap. AND there are a lot of FReepers would agree with Enimen about second amendment rights being stripped away. There is nothing in this rap to even remotely indicate Dubya Bush.

The problem is that I don't listen to the pathetic little twit and I don't even know which station plays his music.

**I agree. Eminem is the most popular rapper today because he has such broad appeal to all kinds of kids with the same frustrated background as he does. These kids are the leftovers of casual attitude about sex, divorce, drugs, etc.

The problem with lots of FReepers is their distaste for rap and hip hop(and young people too) is so great they will not even entertain reasons why some of us like SOME rap, or find Eminem to be interesting(and he's not famous because he's white, but because he talks about much more than the rappers you see on MTV and is a better lyricist.)

No, instead they wish death upon him, death upon us, curse us and insult the music and ANY and ALL fans, despite the fact that the vast majority of them don't commit crimes.

Some people are getting WAY too reactionary, especially when it comes to anything perceived as criticism of the Pres or the right, even when it clearly is NOT.

Just see the article about Ms. Swain and the future of race relations for a few examples of this.

They also generally ignore pro-American sentiments like those found in a Wu Tang song just after 9/11, Dr. Dre had something similar and the fact that Wu Tang had quite an interesting song about the Holocaust.

Yes.... Of course Wu-Tang Clan making a sympathetic rap about the Holocaust would take the wind out of people's sails and that thread would be maybe five posts long. FReeper Yonif posted a thread about Israel rappers making pro-zionist lyrics and even that was trashed :-(

Why would he carjack you?

Despite his dark lyrics in many songs, he's not a "gangsta" rapper.

The rest of the song is nothing but a paean to the right to self-defense and bear arms.

"Hillary Clinton Called me a pervert, I ripped her tonsils out and fed her sherbert".

Doesn't seem like a leftist lyirc to me.

Of course it isn't. Likely he'd have said that about any of his critics, but even on the Anti-Idiotarian blog, when I posted some other portions of the song as I posted here, he changed his stance on it.

But I doubt us posting any of this is going to matter to some of our more obstinate fellow FReepers.

"Sorry. Won't work. Ain't gonna happen. What you suggest will only make him more popular. We need to think of some other approach."

I agree. This low life would like nothing better than to have his name cheered or smeared all about.

Look, we all know the guy is nothing more than a joke. I think ignoring him into oblivion is one of the answers. After all, he is nothing to look at; he doesn't have a good voice, and he is so very average. These are death knell to a entertainer. When you really think about it, he has very little talent. He's boring. I think most people, even the kids, are way past that.

In other words, he has no juice. He just ain't got it. Let him run his utterly boring mouth off. He will die on the vine sooner rather than later.

Oh yes, a record producer told my husband once, that with all the technology they have they could make a monkey into a star.

Maybe someday, we will be seeing some real talent again, instead of the so-so that are there today. And that goes for all walks of the entertainment business.
