I agree...if you pick on Eminem...it would truely backfire...unlike the Dixie Chicks. His popularity is tied directly to be anti-society...and you could easily push him into the front of the whole crowd. Why worry about what he says? Rappsters weren't exactly the strong segment of GW's votes last time....and it sure won't be that way this time. Let Eminem be. You would be fooling with a hornet's nest here.

In light of rapper Eminem's recent lyrics coming to light calling for the death of President Bush

This is vague. Can someone post the lyrics?

I won't be surprised if the Secret Service doesn't "ignore" him.

Never bought a rap record. I'm boycotting Ricki Lee Jones, myself.

Who?

Seriously, the sort of radio stations that would play that sort of drivel would probably play his music even more if they thought it was ticking off patriots.

Talk about kneejerk...

The reference to "dead presidents" is hip-hop code for cash.

This "song"?, or whatever the hell it is...is not about President Bush.

Yeah, "dead presidents" is slang for money. However there is one line in the song that goes beyond that.
Eminem is a violence condoning idiot.

Wow all this furor and we STILL don't know if Eminem was talking about George Bush. Has he issued a statement? Has anyone bothered to find out first?

Eminem is a violence condoning idiot.

True...but that isn,t that the more valid reason to boycott his noise. Most people here probably were boycotting his work before Bush even ran for President.

I guess things have changed, I know in 2000 he was planning to vote for Bush ("I could really use the tax cut"), he has often expressed hatred for Dick Cheney's wife and mocked the VP himself, but he has generally avoided anything negative about Bush while he has mocked Clinton in the past and to some extent, still does.

Do boycotts work if people don't patronize a place/person to begin with? I'm looking for stuff about this on internet and so far I haven't found anything.

Plus the fact that I have been ignoring this pile of excrement, Eminem, since I've heard of him anyway. The toad is a low life, so to try and boycott the scum is like stirring a pot of poo, it only smells worse.

Hell, ignore the bum. That is about the worse thing they fear.

Many of you have the right idea about any boycott having consequences that won't be desirable. In this case, the future costs will not outweigh the benefits. Eminem is already having major power struggles with the other rappers. Let them destroy each other with their negativity without our involvement. Calling for an Eminem ban will only create unity within that segment of society and, while they may not vote, the media will be the first to ring the 'united against Bush' bell. Or, unAmericans Coming Together or whatever the conservative haters are calling themselves this minute.

"F**k money. I don't rap for dead presidents. I'd rather see the president dead. It's never been said, but I set precedents and the standards and they can't stand it... We as Americans. Us as a citizen. We've got to protect ourselves..."

cyanide?

I'd prefer high-velocity lead poisoning--right between the eyes.

This punk, however, is not worth doing the jail-time.

Given his bashing of gays, a just punishment would AIDS.

I never said Eminem was a "lefty". But I think the majority of his market are sheeple who blindly support leftist politicians....if they support anyone at all.
