From Pollstar:

Here's the 2002 Ultimate Top 10:

1. Eminem, $158.3 million. The colorful rapper, who finished third on the Ultimate Top 10 list in 2000, took over the top spot in '02 thanks to phenomenal record sales. He placed three albums in the Top 200: "The Eminem Show" at No. 1 (7.6 million), "8 Mile" at No. 5 (3.5
million) and 2000's "The Marshall Mathers LP," at No. 182 (455,000). Based on an average sale price of $13 per album, that generated $150.8 million.

He also gets credit for $7.5 million as headliner of the Anger Management Tour. Average ticket price: $34. This gives Eminem the fourth-highest total in Ultimate Top 10 history, behind 'N Sync, which grossed $212.9 million in 2000; the Backstreet Boys, $187 million in 1999, and Garth Brooks, $181 million in 1998. He would have topped them all if the box-office receipts from "8 Mile," the
hit film in which he starred, were included, but the list is limited to album and concert funds.

Doesn't include revenue from 8-mile.

It drives me crazy that RAtM are such odious hard-leftists. If you can manage to ignore the lyrics, they rock like a house on fire. They have a thousand times the musical chops of that Mather[s] does (IMH[and reluctant]O).

There's no doubt about that. In the profile of former RATM and current Audioslave axeman Tom Morello in that infamous Rolling Stone article ranking the 100 Greatest Guitarists, he said that when he read an interview in which a famous guitarist said that you get better if you practice an hour every day, he began practicing eight hours a day.

In that ridiculous list, Jimi Hendrix was ranked #1, Duane Allman #2, B.B. King #3, and Eric Clapton #4; Morello was ranked 26th, inexplicably below Kurt Cobain (#12?????), Jack White (White Stripes, #17), Richard Thompson (#19), and Johnny Ramone (#18????), and above Mark Knopfler (#27), Les Paul (#46), Steve Howe (#69), and Eddie Van Halen (#70?????)

Doesn't it just tick you off to no end when some of your favorite performers are left-winged idiots?

Does it ever. I was blocking out my schedule to see School of Rock just before Jack Black signed on to that 'Rock Against Bush' thing.

It'll kill me to wait for cable for it, but I ain't putting any dough in that guy's pocket via the box office.

>>"Hillary Clinton Called me a pervert, I ripped her tonsils out and fed her sherbert".

Doesn't seem like a leftist lyirc to me.<<

No, those are definitely the words of an intelligent human being, worthy of note. What a brilliant artist.

"...wishing M&M would try car jacking me...turning this thread into an obituary of the candy coated turd."

Why on earth would he want your car? whatever you drive is probably not worth a fraction of what he's got on his driveway.

Except he grew up in a very poor section of Detroit. He's not from surburbia.

Count me as one of his fans. I didn't like him at first, because I didn't listen to him. Once I did, I realize that his rhymes were light years ahead of anyone else out there. Take that, and the mixing talents of Dr. Dre, you've got yourself one heck of a rapper.

I don't believe I implied that in my post. It is not OK. Rappers want all whites dead (according to their lyrics). Is that OK?

Apparently you didn't understand my post. I said that a boycott (which is my our constitutional right) need nod take place.

He is no artist--to suggest otherwise is to turn the term on its' head. He is an infantile creep who engages in shock. I think he is indicative of the overall decline in creativity and culture in America.

Give me Muddy Waters, Hank Williams Sr. or Bib Seger anytime over that high-voiced, angry adolescent. He is frighteningly unappealing. He is so unmanly and small (physically and mentally)--I just don't get the hype.
