You know, 10 years ago I would not have believed this.

Ten years ago I wouldn't have belived any of it. First you can't trust the priests and now it's the FBI. Who's next? Just this morning they had a story about a priest who befriended a sex offender and entertained him at his horse farm! If that isn't enough the man was having sex in the bell tower of the church, then he apparently killed his partner. Now they're considering charging the priest with lying to a grand jury. Who is there left to trust?

Although I tell this one for laughs, I'll never forget the summer I worked on a university
research farm...
first learning from the news that Rock Hudson was not only dying from AIDS,
but he was GAY...
and then finding out the John Deere tractor I drove was mostly composed of parts
from Germany and Spain.

I don't know how I maintained my faith in the greatest nation on G-d's Green Earth.

You refer to 1962 and later 1972. I presume you mean 1972 for both as the Treasury Department counted for 95% of all Organized Crime Convictions in the 60s and early 70s. Hoover was also against undercover operations as he thought it would cause his agents to go bad (as opposed to doing noting other than chasing stolen cars). Once the Bureau became involved in fighting LCN, they took credit for everything, and took political steps (I can't proove it, just suspect) to strip other agencies of their effectiveness ( to enhance the Bureaus percieved effectiveness). Some examples are causing "in-house" investigations with respect to the "carding of informants", precluding other agencies from keeping records on organized crime families etc. Their efforts continue to this day with the duplication of records - eg FINCEN's Currency and Banking Records is duplicated by the Bureau in West VA (allegedly for Narcotics which is under the DEA), their incompetancuy in their "world renowned" laboratories, i.e. screwed up records etc till this day where their bullet testing has proven faulty; their being involved with enforcement of anti-Terrorism, so that they can say an item is in their jurisdiction when they have no competancy in the field etc.

I read the series about this in the Boston Globe.It was so intertwined with the politics of Boston. Bulger was the Irish mafia informant on the Italian Mafia...I can't recall all the players but I came away sick.Google Boston Globe,Whitey Bulger and weep.Connolly was the FBI sgent.

Do you honestly believe that J Edgar Hoover's successors didn't know . Do you honestly think that the Attorney General's of the U.S. for the 30+ years didn't know ? Do you honestly think that ANY govt. employee will ever be held accountable for these actions? I wouldn't bet money on it

That's what's so funny.  The focus is put on Hoover only, then accusations of him being a transvestite, then it's reidentified of part of the homosexual agenda to destroy America,  A red ribbon gets wrapped around the final package and the poltroon walks away, patting himself on the back.  You could write a play....
