Oh good, are we going to have to listen to 30 hours of phone book readings? I hope they use this time to actually say something that matters. It's the perfect opportunity to list out the accomplishments and the vision for the future. If they have to talk that long, let them please make sense of it.

The Dems better enjoy their little power trip now because after the 2004 elections they won't have much power left.

I haven't followed this as closely as I should---are the Republicans trying to force the Dems to conduct a REAL filibuster?

Okay, I'm a dumbs**t...
How is the filibuster going to work? Does ONE person have to keep talking, can they pass from one to the next?
Can someone fill me in on the rules?
(Really I'm not as dumb as I post.)

Why isn't anyone making a deal about the fact that this type of filibuster is UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!!!!!???
NEVER in the history of the country...NEVER in more than two centuries of American government, has a federal judicial nominee been DENIED a vote...NEVER! The dems are so desperate for power, they are willing to walk all over the Constitution to get it.

We need to flood the GOP cloakroom with support. You are more likely to get through to this number and can also get directly to people involved in the talkathon and tell them to have people read Miller's book or past Dem hypocritical statements saying they just wanted us to allow a vote etc.

By the time the major media spin this 30-hour marathon, it will make the Republicans look like a bunch of whiners.
The Dems will come out of this smelling like roses by continuing to rant that the important work of the Senate-- jobs/prescription drugs/appropriations/etc -- is not being done because the Republicans are doing this silly talkathon circus.
This 30 hour marathon was not one of Frist's better ideas.
To: Howlin
The real question here is how will the vote to amend the senate rules turn out on Friday!! Will someone please discuss the vote count on this. My understanding is that we need 50 votes (including Cheney). We have Zell and will likely lose Chaffee and Collins. CLOSE! Any thoughts gang?
