It's that large group of Arab folks who are living in the area currently designated "the Palestinian Authority."
The author would either have us pretend that those people are not there; or else that there is someplace else for them to go.
They're there, and they have no place else to go.
That's the reality, and recognition of that fact is both part of the problem, and part of the solution. The rest of it is all wishful thinking -- and (dare I say it) bigotry.
Squaters. Now they want to steal the land from it's owners.
Sure, the press can feel sorry for these homeless folks, but they'd be better off in Africa. Send them there. They have lots of room.
Oh puke. They're theives.
That sounds like the Nazi era Madagascar Plan.
Because their Arab brothers like to keep them there as rabid attack dogs against Israel. It's not as though there is no room for them in 22 Arab Muslim countries.
"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism." --- PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein on March 31, 1977
If they're thieves, then so are the Israelis, for accepting their half of the 1948 Mandate. I don't think either side are "thieves" simply for being there.
But all of this is really quite irrelevant: the Israelis are there, and so are the Palestinians, or whatever you want to call them. Neither side can be removed without serious bloodshed -- which may be inevitable.
And before you get all bent out of shape, I'm on record here as a big supporter of Israel. I fully understand that Arafat and other assorted salamikaze murderers are culpable for 98% of the problems in the region.

Having said that, I have no respect for the Palestinian State movement until they renounce violence, a la Gandhi or Martin Luther King.
The Jewish owned Isreal. They had a home.
Palistinians are squaters. It's not right for them to land grab from another country.
Like I said, there's nations out there who could offer them a home. Since they have no other place to go, go to the country that supports their plight the most. That's fair, no? It's better than stealing what ever they want from who ever they want.
Would we let Mexico come in and steal Texas simply because they want to? No, we wouldn't! We'd feel the same way Israel does!
If you were Jordan, Syria, or Egypt, would you take them?
I didn't think so. The only hope for peace (forlorn as it is) is to tame those folks in place.
I didn't think so.
If you were Israel, would you take them?
I didn't think so.
Israel settled that unpopulated place way back in ancient history. The Nazis took it away from them. The UN gave it back to them after the war. They own it.
Since NO ONE NOW ALIVE has actually resided in the Middle East for thousands of years, none have any greater claim to being there than any others.
The moral thing is to deal with the plight of people in the here and now. Doing otherwise is to dip into racism and hatred.
Do you mean let Mexico come in and steal Texas back from the U.S.?
The Jewish owned Isreal. They had a home The Jewish people currently own Isreal but if you go back three or four thousand years you will find that the land where Isreal now is has been "owned" by quite a few different people.
Don't mean to offend any Texans here nor to restart any 150+ year old wars.
Bad example, because they DID own it once.
Let's say ....Wisconsin. Mexico never owned it. Let's say the Mexicans decided to take it simply because they chose it. Would we let them have it?
