Maybe, maybe even likely, but this article doesn't make the case, despite the typically over-provocative Newsmax headline. "[Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-WV] refuses to denounce the memo, which he says was unauthorized and written by staffers. If that's the case, at the very least, some heads ought to roll. A good place to start would be minority staffer Christopher Mellon, who serves as deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence in the Clinton administration." One of Mellon's former bosses, former first lady Hillary Clinton, has been sharply critical of the Bush administration's policy in Iraq. Last week she accused the White House of trying cover-up battlefield casualties and said Bush's decision to invade Iraq was "the antithesis of the rule of law."
That's it? I ran a Google News Search on Christopher Mellon, and came up empty but for this Newsmax article. It's possible they're missing something, since the WSJ editorial first mentioning Mellon also didn't appear. However, all we've got now is a suggestion to look at this Clinton appointee; that's it.

And I suspect that this is only one of several ongoing efforts designed to discredit the Bush administration prior to the 2004 elections. These events are orchestrated and coordinated to ensure that all of the left wing support elements are on board to create maximum impact. One bright side is that they concentrated so much on this plan that they lost governorships in California, Kentucky and Mississippi. I hope the entire devious plan comes back to bite them in the a**.

Only because Ashcroft still refuses to indict any of them.
He already let reno run for office in FL against Jeb Bush.
Now he paves the way for the dims to attack President Bush.
A Republican controlled Congress needs to investigate the US Attorney General.
He took an oath of office and has failed to abide by it.
Lets get Ann Coulter or Ollie North as US Attorney General.

I think it has Clinton and McCauliffe written all over it but not that they leaked it. I think they are getting their info from a dem or staffer on the committee. Just think how many dems think that Clinton walks on water. If Joe Q public is any indication, the whole party is drinking their kool aid except Zell Miller.....
