You know, we all have joked and vented and blamed and ignored and commented and criticized this "movie" ...in one way or another, myself included.

But seriously, this really ticks me off. I just cannot take this in stride like all that other evil crap the liberals have been spewing for 30 years.

Why this? Why is this my line in the sand? Why is my Chrisitian Spirit challenged to maintain civility in light of this particular event?

Maybe because I remember being a young kid, just out of college, making $13,000 a year, looking at 20% interest rates, 15%+ mortagage rates, thinking I'm NEVER going to have a chance like my parents did.

Maybe because I remember that sinking feeling of hopelessness seeing our hostages being paraded around in Tehran like animals...nobody doing anything to save those poor people...the disaster "rescue attempt" in the desert...etc.

Maybe because I actually wondered at one point if our time (America) was over and those God-less Russians and Chinese were going to rule us one day, soon. That my Dad fought in WWII for...for THIS?.

And then came...

PRESIDENT REAGAN.

All that changed...ALL OF THAT! Confidence in America came back, the stranglehold the unions had on our businesses disappeared, I got a HUGE RAISE [can you spell t-a-x-c-u-t], the Commies were reeling, our military was on the rebound, the stock market rocketed UP, New York City began to recover [my home at the time], it was OK again to be a businessman, make money, be patriotic, talk about God, care about family.

The 60's and 70's were pronounced OVER AND OUT!

I love President Reagan as much as I love any mortal man that ever lived. He means the world to me and many people my age who were there and who remember!

How these evil and sick people (CBS, Moonves, Streisand, etc), and yes, they are evil and sick, could do this to a former President of the greatest nation on earth, our home, our beloved America, while he is dying a slow, sad, tragic death, with his undyingly loyal wife at his side the entire time...he can't defend himself, he shouldn't even have to.

It's beyond despicable.

Today I refered to every Democrat I know, to their face, as being mean. I will never refer to Democrats again, whether in person, third person, email, voice mail, snail mail, quail mail...without saying it as one word...

MEANDEMOCRAT

Rant over. Thanks to anyone who read this far.

God Bless America and God Bless President Reagan.

I heard the other day on Rush that Ronald Reagan, when he was President of the Screen Actors Guild negotiated the residuals that all the actors get today. He refused to accept the residuals himself because he believed it was a conflict of interest.

Damn nicely put.

Makes me want to ask a liberal if they are living in fear of a soviet missle landing on their town. "Oh... you aren't??? Why not?".

Great rant.

I was in my twenties with two little ones, had a carpentry crew when interest rates hit those highs. I'll never forget the real worst economy of the last fifty years. Never.

The man was a Godsend to this country and they dare to take their spiteful, twisted views of him and call it history.

I'm biding my time, but sometime this week I'm going to call some sponsors and my local CBS affiliate manager and have a chat.

It won't be pretty.

Wonderful post. Reagan was the first president I voted for. I was home from school early the day he was shot and watched the whole thing on TV. I was bawling like a baby waiting to hear that he was okay.

He gave my generation hope. That was something new to us. We could be proud again to be Americans.

I'm not ashamed to say that I feel much the same way abut Ronald Reagan. I grew up, an army brat, in the malaise of Carter, with a dismal future ahead of me, after a two day wait in a gasoline line.

I thank God for President Reagan. I know he wasn't a perfect guy, but he reminded us that WE were, and are, what was great and strong about America. His faith in us, chokes me up today.

Ronald Reagan and his unbeatable spirit were the bridge to the twenty-first century.

Amen my man! Great rant! All of us on Free Republic need to step up our commitment in exposing this evil wickedly depraved smear campaign on the greatest president of the 20th Century. Not even that "do nothing, ignorant commie coddlin Jimmy Carter or any other President (well minus Clinton maybe) should be smeared in such a foul and wicked manner as currently being attempted by CBS.

Let's win one more time for the Gipper!

Ya'll know he would be believing in us!

Good post.

One of our family stories is my then toddler son hearing that Reagan had won the election. As a socialist/democrat, I guess I had been ranting enough about the election that he knew something was up, even if he didn't understand it all. So, the little fella comes to me and says, "Mommy, Reagan won. What happens to us now?" I swear.

Strange how time and life experience changes your perspective. Son and I are now both Reagan fans and were appalled at what CBS wanted to do. I have no problem with political debate. Surely CBS could have presented the Reagan years in a way that would encourage legitimate debate. But what CBS did was a pure smear job on a dying man and shame on them for it.

Again, good post. Thanks for taking the time to write it. I'm sure you speak for a lot of us.
