Am I supposed to conclude that Pataki, who knows the nominee would get high billing at the convention, is courting Spencer without Rove's knowledge, and is either ingorant, unaware, or recklessly cavalier that he's making an implicit promise that Karl Rove would rather not keep? Spencer passes the test with flying colors: "Someone who isn't a complete joke and who won't moon the cameras." He's a mayor, he looks senatorial, on stage, give a speech, and viola. They need a warm body with a resume who isn't a racist or rapist. You really think that John Spencer's failed marriage is going to be a major embarassment for Dubya? Puh-lease, get over it.

Both Schumer and Clinton are popular in NY -- INCLUDING central and upstate -- because they're scum. Actually, they are popular in central and upstate NY because they promised to represent us well and they have attempted to keep the promise. They visit frequently, support upstate-favorable legislation, and even show up for small-town ribbon cuttings. She also has some yuppie women "you go girl" votes. As for me, I'd never support either--because they're scum. |

His personal life became the focus of controversy after it was revealed that Spencer fathered two children with his chief-of-staff, Kathy Spring - whom he recently married - while still married to his first wife. Ok...he lost me there. No way I will help this guy.

I believe there's a difference between upstate and downstate, NY. Unfortunately, downstate usually gets its way. Sigh.

We're losing jobs hand over fist and they aren't helping much there.

*** Actually, they are popular in central and upstate NY because........****
You may be right about this when they first got elected, but that popularity is most certainly weaning here in Central New York. Alot of members of my family are in manufacturing jobs in CNY (what is left of them)!! My brother tells me that although the union heads will endorse Chucky, many workers will not because he simply has not followed through as far as bringing jobs upstate. He is quick to show up and get his picture on TV, but people here are catching on to that. Hillary is the same. Carrier Corp. recently anounced they are pulling out of Syracuse and she flies up here and basically just met with workers who in a few months will be out of a job (you know, the old trick she learned from Bill - "I feel your pain."). Sorry, but people are not buying it anymore!

Glad to hear people are catching on to Hillary's and Chuckie's "we feel your pain" acts where you are in upstate/central NY. Do you think the jobs meltdown will hurt Pres. Bush's re-election chances?

It might if he continues to throw us this "global economy" crap. Middle class people could care a less about the globe i.e. China and Singapore etc. Jobs are leaving the USA (not just here in CNY) and people better start realizing that it is the politicians who have caused it - both DemoRATS and Republicans!

I think so myself because it seems like everyone I talk to hates him. They read the "Sub Standard" newspaper and all they get is the negative stuff. It's amazing how the media controls this nation!

I know it was. I would love to see Chuckie and Hillary OUT of the running. Don't know if it's possible at this point unless Rudy runs in one of the spots. Oh, please, Lord....
