Monty Python's Flying Circus Episode 25
Major: Don't be childish, Jenkins. No, I think, I think fisties would be best. OK, so hands behind backs. After three, OK, one, two, three. (everyone except the padre who has no arms puts out clenched fist) Now what's this... stone, stone, stone, (looks down at his hand) and scissors. Now. Scissors cut everything, don't they?
Sergeant: Not stone, sir.
Major: They're very good scissors

In the final game, Krueger played a gambit known as Fistful odollars (Rock, Paper, Paper), against Silver Medallist Marc Rigauxs Avalanche (Rock, Rock, Rock) series.Well, it must be a serious sport, if it has "gambits."

So help me, I never heard of the game until about a week ago, now I've heard of it twice. Roshambo is a way of life. When I was in college, we would not so much as answer the phone or take out the trash without a round of rock-scissors-paper. We didn't even have to say anything to each other, just held up fists and palms, and squared off.

and even teams with team doctors. It's an easy job, really. The only injuries they see are cuts, paper cuts, and blunt-force trauma.

I did a little research. It turns out the name "Roshambo" is the Korean name for the game. I grew up calling it "Jan Ken Po". (A bit of useless trivia - kind of like this article.)

In my experience the Japanese routinely use jankenpo to settle all sorts of trivial problems. When I lived there they would always use it to see who would serve first in badminton or get the ball first in basketball.

Wow...never heard it called Roshambo. That seems too close to the game "Rochambeau", described
in this .wav file by none other than Eric Cartman.

Beat me to it. Hope you didn't miss last week's metrosexual/craaab peeeeple episode, it was a riot.

Hey...hey ...hey, I take offense to that. This is serious stuff. In fact I recommend you look up IFOCE (the International Confederation of Compeptive Eating) on the internet. It too represents a very serious segment of society. They have magnificent "eat offs" on the Discovery Channel.

When will IBM make a computer that can outplay the world rock-paper-scissors champion?
