I am not defending Jeb, I am defending the Office;

However, I think someone is falsely accusing the Office of the Governor of Florida in an attempt to join in on the latest rounds of Bush-bashing at the expense of Terri Schaivo and I think it should STOP.

Look, you said you don't like seeing all these posts about Terri and you want it to stop.

Look up the word "apathy" in the dictionary, pal.

And re-read post #11. Other than this, it is the only response you will receive and deserve.

Question for you:

What does that have to do with anything?

Not a red herring at all. I am only going on the words you used. Now you call the governor feckless? Come on, you know better than that.

What I am trying to point out to you and others, is that there are times where the law does not always work in our favor, but we are still bound by those laws. Just as in the case of the Ten Commandments removal from that courthouse, where most of us did not agree with the Judge's ruling.

We cannot ask one officer of the law, to directly oppose another officer of the law. A ruling is in effect. There have been multiple unsuccessful appeals against that ruling. Now, some of you would have the Governor step in, in direct violation of settled law, to impose your wishes.

This is where societies break down. I have read threads suggesting Jury nulification and other actions as a result of this, as though Conservatives have decided that the law is something to adhere to only when we agree with it.

Having an opinion, rightly or wrongly, is not enough to change legal rulings, much less enough to call the governor a murderer as some here have done.

Why not put our anger and outrage to constructive use, instead of attacking the few allies in government that we have? Why not insist that the Florida legislature creates laws preventing more incidents like this from taking place? Instead, the very people who have the power to prevent this from happening again are being subjected to the silliest of attacks.

I would not expect much assistance from someone I called a murderer, but maybe that's just me? It is time for a sanity check, people.

Ok I see what your question was meant to do.

I'm standing by my position, you can agree with it or not. That's your choice, but that argument you have against him doing this, is weak at best.

He's a coward and will remain a coward until he does something. The law in this case, is condemning an innocent person to death.

I think it is funny you will talk about saving animals while showing disdain for those who want to save an innocent life.

I show disdain for those who show disdain of Jeb Bush, the Pope, the President, and God knows who else, all because they don't just storm in and overturn a judge's ruling that has been upheld by 19 other judges.

If you don't understand the implications of what you're advocating, you're not thinking.

Lynch is not the only of the hierarchy in Florida who has cautiously opened the door to euthanasia. I find it telling he'd rather cite Florida Bishops than the clearcut, black and white Catechism.

Terri Schiavo is being murdered by court order. All responsible (as well as those who neglect to intervene to the extent they can) are indeed morally culpable accessories to the murder by starvation they are enforcing by threat of arrest or other penalty to all who interfere to save her life.

Lynch ought to stick with his radical agenda of Cosmic Walks and other revolutionary tripe and resist the urge to speak "as a Catholic" on any matter of actual import.

Your half-assed attempt to be funny while a woman is slowly being starved to death in the name of convenience outright sickens me. I hope that never happens to you.

Aren't you suggestion Jeb can change the ruling? If he can, then why didn't he change the ruling of the Fla Supreme Court in 2000?

No criminal law had been broken in the Schiavo case. The FDLE Cabinet has no authority.

If you don't understand the implications of what you're advocating, you're not thinking.

If you think it is better for someone who is in a position to do something to do nothing, not only am I not the one who is not thinking, I am not the one being heartless and cruel.

Get on your knees right now and beg God for forgiveness, in hope He will not decide to bestow the same fate upon you.

The governor can suspend the execution of the suspect judge's ruling and order his atty gen to institute an investigation ... if he had the character to do what is right and then deal with the political fallout. Is that more clear to you?

No, you are just closing your eyes, ears and heart to this woman. You could care less about her impending death and that those who have both the legal and moral authority to do something about it will not.

May God have mercy on your soul.

Right, he can call for a criminal investigation, but no criminal laws have been broken. My understanding is the Judge ruled that Michael is the legal guardian, not that the tubes should be removed by the judges order. Greer was only confirming Michael had the right to do so. Morally wrong, IMO, but thats the way the law was written. Hopefully a Bill will alter it in time, much faster than a criminal investigation. So you're saying that Jeb can suspend Greers ruling that Michael is the next of kin?

Not at all. Read my posts. I am "closing [my] eyes, ears and heart to" you boneheads blaming it on Jeb.

Maybe you should consider consulting the Lord about passing Judgement on sinkspur.

You people are out of control.

So, if we don't stop pushing for governor bush to save this woman from a cruel and unusuaul and unconstitutional (the governor's amicus would help you to catch that one) death then society will break down ... I suppose just the way it did when sinkEmperor and clinton kidnapped Elian and sent him back to Castroland. Sorry, I'm not buying what you're peddling. I'll leave these threads alone now ... wouldn't want to sully the sparkling image of the governor of Floriduh, don'tcha know.

If you weren't so excised over the fact that nothing legal can be done to stop this, you'd have realized that the humour was directed at people who can't or won't understand what certain government representatives can and cannot do.
