Hehehehehe...I can go you one better. I have a link with Hitler because my father was born in Italy. Even though he emigrated to the U.S. before the war at the age of 13, he still had cousins in Italy when Mussolini was an ally of Hitler. Also, even though he was Italian, my father's father had red hair, a red moustache and blue eyes. So some distant ancestor must have been from northern Europe and may possibly have been Germanic. I confess. I'm one of those pre-birth "Nazis," myself. [/grin]

Yes and at the very end of the article it says that this Thyssen withdrew support from the Nazis altogether in 1938 when they began persecuting Jews and Catholics. So what's the big stink here?

This article is soft on the Republicans since the others all had links to Hitler -

1) Eisenhower - of german parents he was frequently seen in the presence of Nazi generals and soldiers. Despite the presence of a NAZI regime expressed a desire (later fufilled in 1945) to go Germany and visit Berlin.

2) Nixon - Was a close associate of Henry Kissinger. Kissinger was born in Germany and knew many Germans who would later became Nazi's. Like Hitler, Nixon liked sports and oatmeal.

3) Reagen - Went to Germany in 1982. Invited Mel Gibson to the White House. As is well known, Gibson's father is a Nazi. Reagen was also an associate of actor Errol Flynn, a well known Nazi spy and Jimmy Stewart who visited Germany over 20 times before Hitler's death.

What I find interesting is how the left wing media and state department has played this game of taking our victories and making them look like losses since WWII.

Now we are seeing the same old script being played out after the Regime Change in Iraq.

Two points that I would like to make if you would indulge me.

The left in this country set the stage for our loss in Viet-Nam. I had many tears on April 30, 1975. That being so, I had no problem with bugging out from Lebanon and Somalia as there didn't seem to be much reason or purpose. Our enemies saw otherwise.

Without regime change in Iraq we could never satisfy our curiosity about the origin of future attacks against us.

There's no doubt in my mind, simply because we are the alpha dog, we will be attacked again.

I don't feel any guilt for genocide or pogroms in the past. As near as anybody can tell my family is Irish/Scottish. I'm not Jewish or an arab but I'm not about to allow a valuable culture to disappear from the earth. If the arab world had had as much sense as they do pride they would have welcomed their fellow semites when they moved in back in the '40's and studied their methods.

The arabs could have learned a thing or two about how to build a modern state. They could have built a nation where their grandchildren could grow up to be surgeons, concert violinists and mathematicians instead of shepherds, beggars and suicide-bombers. Such a shame that such a natural opportunity was wasted.

It seems to me that their scientists and surgeons emigrated to the USA.
