Well, according to the MSNBC translator, bin Laden said that Bush and the Zionists used a cascade of lies to get the US into Iraq and is bribing other nations to provide mercenary soldiers so that he can steal all of the oil.
If that isn't basically what Ted Kennedy and Howard Dean have been saying over the course of the last few weeks, I don't know what is.

Audio tapes are the easiest to fake. That's why dead Wahhabis send us cheap little cassettes .... So that's the reason.
And all this time I thought that Osama just didn't have the four dollars and 95 cents to buy one of these:

There were rumors that bin Laden had undergone plastic surgery in early 2002 at the hands of either the IRGC or the ISI. I don't know how much credibility to give them, but they were out there.
To: WackyKat
Secondly, I believe that Bin Laden has had plastic surgery to radically change his appearance. I think you're right.

We reserve the right to retaliate at the proper time and place against all countries that take part in this unjust war (against Iraq), namely Britain, Spain, Australia Poland, Japan and Italy,Hmm. Not to long ago a fair number of these countries had unprecedented blackouts in a six week period. New warnings are out about biological attacks, is prep time over?

I just saw that Musharaff said Bin Laden is alive .....isn't this a change of thinking on his part?

"2 months?"
Yep. That was what the translator guy said, since Mahmood Abbas resigned at the end of August. And to be quite honest, I don't see how bin Laden could have ever predicted in 2001 that Abbas would rise to the position of PA Prime Minister.
"That places this in the August time frame...about the time of the UN building bombing."
Yes. That was about the time that Iraq started getting a serious influx of foreign fighters (before they had just been coming the dozens). There were similar attacks coordinated in Chechnya, Indonesia, Algeria, and the Philippines during that same period.
"Angelus the guy on MSNBC said he even mentions South Korea......had they announced they were sending troops to Iraq back in August?"
Yes, 20,000 of them. They may still send them, but his mentioning of them is significant.

Did Ben Laden use Miss Cleo to get his message through from the other side?

The timeframes you've mentioned have given me pause in my previously held belief OBL was dead.

Breaking News from Iowa--Bin Laden is now in third place in the Democratic polling.
Just in From New Hampshire--
Bin Laden and John F Kerry are running neck and neck just behind Nikita Dean.

Yes, prior to that point Musharraf had always been of the opinion that bin Laden was dead, or at least certainly not in Pakistan. Now that opinion has changed and we honestly don't know why.
I can't believe the way that the other networks are just ignoring this, this is big news.

"Why? Because Osama bin Laden says so. Thats why."

I would wait for verification before anything else.
If the feds verify this, then I would say that we have the Real McCoy. Otherwise, it's just some guy with an audio cassette.
It is the references to Abbas and what's happening in Iraq with the UN and the US trying to get troops that I honestly don't see any way that bin Laden could have predicted in late 2001. If he died, that was when he died. Otherwise, the hunt simply goes on. I don't think his being alive or dead changes much as far as what the US has to do.
To: Angelus Errare
It gave me pause when I saw what Musharraf said. Something has changed his mind.

South Korea already has troops there.

Secondly, I believe that Bin Laden has had plastic surgery to radically change his appearance. Of course he won't show his face now. From my sources I've learned that this latest tape was clear enough for the NSA to do reverse echo processing. This is a technique where inverse mapping is done on echoes to determine the size and shape of objects in the room used during the recording - sort of a sonic radar. The subsequent data is plotted as an image. Here are the results (not totally surprising):
