MOSCOW, May 31 (Reuters) - Russia's space agency criticised U.S. President Donald Trump's "hysteria" about the first spaceflight of NASA astronauts from U.S. soil in nine years, but also said on Sunday it was pleased there was now another way to travel into space.

SpaceX, the private rocket company of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, on Saturday launched two Americans into orbit from Florida en route to the International Space Station (ISS), a landmark mission that ended Russia's monopoly on flights there.

Trump, who observed the launch, said the United States had regained its place as the world's leader in space, that U.S. astronauts would soon land on Mars, and that Washington would soon have "the greatest weapons ever imagined in history."

Russians aren’t very subtle hiding their emotions.

They project waaaaay too much.

NASA’s Office of Inspector General (OIG), the agency’s auditor, said in a report last Thursday that NASA will pay $90 million to fly with Boeing – and just $55 million to fly with SpaceX. Both NASA and Boeing pushed back on OIG’s report, with the company saying in a press release that it “rejects the average seat price assessment.”

“NASA believes the seat prices identified in the OIG report are overstated because they did not account for the cargo capability of the Boeing and SpaceX systems,” NASA spokesperson Josh Finch said in a statement.

Cargo launch has been $60 million with a new first stage. The manned module has now replaced the pure cargo ship used in prior launches.
