Trump never said “Russian interference in US elections is a hoax”. He said the investigation into collusion with his campaign was a hoax—the Russia Hoax. No surprise there because CNN was lying about what Trump said.

Fact: Russians bought a $100,000 of ads in the first 10 months of 2016.
Fact: That is a piddling amount when total paid ads campaign spending was close to a billion.
Fact: That is a piddling amount when when in kind donations of the media dwarfed the paid ads of everyone combined.
Fact: We can point to specific voters by name whose vote was influenced by the June 24, 2016 article of Wayne Allyn Root.

From what I understand, Trump does not deny there were Russian ads. He does deny that he and his campaign had antything to do with them. He does hold that the Russian ads were totally ineffective. They might as well not have existed.
