With respect to Trump's "behaviors", other Republicans need only not help Democrats blow those behaviors out of proportion. You can respond to questions with "I don't agree with that particular statement by the President" and then move on.
Virtue-signallers like Flake are despised because they are willing to sabotage important policies simply because they don't like the President's tone. And they generally compound their sanctimony by refusing to criticize Democrats whose "tone" is worse than Trump's.

I’m actually hopeful for the future of the Republican Party. With the undercover Democrats and Rhinos leaving and swamp creatures being primaried things are moving in a positive direction. Long way to go though.

When McCain's body was driven to the airport and there were NO CITIZENS LINING THE STREETS TO WATCH THE BODY GO BY - IT WAS OBVIOUS HE WAS NOT LOVED BY 'THE PEOPLE'.
It was the opposite when McCain's body was at the National Cathedral surrounded by the horrible 'elites' that almost destroyed our country. THEY were his fans and fellow Trump haters.
