BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Democratic U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont says he believes that if Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is seated, it would diminish the confidence Americans should have in the court.
Leahy, a member of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, made the comments Monday in his Burlington office before flying back to Washington.
He said questions that arose during the confirmation process about an alleged sexual assault in high school and bad behavior in college demonstrate what happens when "you try to rush through a judicial nominee."
Leahy said he believes the allegations against Kavanaugh are "completely credible" and that he hopes the nomination ultimately fails....

Says the Senator who has diminished the US Senate.

Suppose your son were accused of rape. Would you presume him guilty or would you want to hear both sides, examine witnesses and look at physical evidence, if any?
If it were a smear would you take it as proof of his guilt if he stood up and belligerently denounced it as a smear? Would discovering that your son likes beer change your estimation of his degree of guilt in the face of a must be believed accuser?
Do you agree that women drink beer too? Do you hate all people who drink beer or just men who drink beer? Suppose woman who drinks beer gives a beer to a man who drinks beer? Do you denounce her for enabling toxic masculinity by encouraging men to drink beer?
He wasn’t concerned that Sotomayor and Kagan diminished the confidence Americans had in the court.

And ole Leaky Leahy has done wonders for raising the bar in the Senate.
Actually the only thing “being diminished” here is the credibility of the Democrat Party. That this sort of OBVIOUS sleazy shameful poltical fraud is being perpetrated by the Democrats indicates no Democrat anywhere is fit for public office.
This whole episode has raised a new awareness for US Voters of just how despicable and power mad the current crop of Democrat politicians, at all levels, are.
