Trump Approval Rating Rises

While still historically low, President Donald Trump's approval rating is on the upswing, according to a new Politico/Morning Consult poll.

After a lowest-ever showing of 39% in last month's poll, the most recent survey finds his overall approval rating up at 43%.

Among Republicans, 80% gave their approval, up from 73% in the previous poll. Among Democrats 40% approve of his performance, up from 35% last month.

The improvement likely has to do with Trump's recent signals he is willing to compromise with Democrats on a successor program to DACA, the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

"Trump's post-Charlottesville plunge proved to be short-lived, and his approval has stabilized," said Morning Consult co-founder and Chief Research Officer Kyle Dropp in a statement accompanying the new poll.

Dropp said that independents were also driving the uptick.

"Immediately after Charlottesville, 35% of independent voters approved of Trump, and 58% disapproved," he said. "In this latest poll, that has risen to 40% approval and 52% disapproval,."

The poll was conducted Sept. 14-17 among 1,994 registered voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points.

Since the poll was taken, Trump on Sept. 19 delivered his first address to the United Nations General Assembly.

80% of Republicans, 40% of Democrats and 40% of Independents. Sounds like he'll be reelected.

How can this be? Since day one, the media has been telling us this administration is in meltdown, it is in chaos, he’s going to destroy this country, deport people, he’s racist sexist all that stuff.

80x + 40y = 43(x + y)

if y = 100.

80x + 4000) = 43(x + 100)
80x = 43x + 4300 - 4000
37x = 300
x = 300/37
x = 8.108

That’s a small sample size of x.

100 dems sampled 8.11 republicans.

if it were 50 dems and 50 republicans, his approval would be 60%.

How math deprived do they think their readers are? The media has no respect for the intelligence of the public otherwise they would at least refuse to provide a break down that anyone with half a brain can see does not add up.

Oh look, the imaginary poll numbers have improved a bit, but are still "historically low".

The only polls that matter is the ones on election day... and WE keep winning those.

So the 20% of GOP are the swamp supporters, other words just as much our enemy as Democrat voters.

IMHVHO, I consider an “approval” poll as kind of stupid. I favor polls that are specific and ask specific objective questions on policy points. That’s just me.

Agree. Change the order of questions and the answers change with them... 'Approval' polls are likely the easiest to manipulate.
