Buried amongst the snark and condescension, this guy has a few good points. Which means he will be demonized and ignored by the left, because Russia is not even mentioned once.

If the Republican Establishment doesn’t quit sabotaging Pres. Trump’s agenda there will be a bloodbath in 2018 but it will be the Republicans who are the victims.

Would it be improper to wish that they felt as low, frightened and angry as we on this particular day 8 years ago? At that time it was felt that day would be the final Memorial Day our nation would ever honor. Same for Independence Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Tears were shed at the end of the day, both inside and out. Only JUSTICE will remedy what this country has seen in the hands of the devils.

I don’t expect any impeachment, but as far as a Blue Wave occurring, we’ll have to see. Anything could happen to create blips and sudden trends. War with North Korea, heavy terror within the US, a Katrina-Like weather scene.

OR *Very low unemployment throughout the states, *Replacing O-Care with something that is both functional and very easy to explain. Send out a team of qualified informed experts to explain. Have them coordinate and be unified in their descriptions.* Have The President STOP contradicting his own policy teams while in public, thus confusing and annoying everyone.
*Slicing corporate taxes, and doing this while reducing or eliminating certain federal spending in equal or greater amounts. *Beginning construction of The Wall in earnest, not just in theory.

*Protecting Christian and Jews from lawsuits over trivial retailer policies (i.e. Cakes).
*Leaving the Battle of the Bathrooms up to local government, but helping to pay for a third ‘one occupant’ restroom for business that need or want one.
*Taming the EPA to retreat from fining private property owners over making minor changes to their own property.
*Removing Landmark Status and Re-opening some federal lands to the public, mainly for new housing and business construction.

Your points are valid and well taken. My prediction is outside of the game changers you mentioned it won’t be a blue wave but a red sit out instead.

We are going to run Insane Candidates on the RAT ticket against the worst RATS and then all crossover and win the crazy one’s primaries for them. In precincts where there are no serious challengers to the R incumbent, IF we like that incumbent.

There could be a “blue wave” in 2018 if the balless, clueless Republicans in congress dont get their act together and repeal 0bamacare, reform taxes and build the wall. Trumps base will not turn out for them if they continue to obstruct.

Andrew O’Hehir dramatic soul-searching is especially funny because - on our side - we already know the path democrats will take. It's called the “What's the Matter with Kansas?” idiocy.

Here's how it works: Democrats will flaunt their so-called high minded academic jingoism then moan fully accept that ‘the people’ are too stupid to see their brilliance.

“THEY'LL VOTE AGAINST THEIR OWN INTEREST’ democrats will say — wailed WITH GASPS OF PITY FOR THE HAPLESS RUBES’ ... and with heavy heart DEMOCRATS will decide they have no option - NO CHOICE - but trickery...

The trickery?

Democrats will run candidates that appear to be Republican - appear to be traditional Americans. They'll run Vets, Stay at Home Moms, people who go to church every week... citizens AGAINST 'choice'...In short - they'll lie about who they are. They HAVE TO (in their own minds) because the people are too stupid to see how wonderful progressive ideas are... ("Why won't these rubes give up their cultures, values and beliefs for an extra $60 a month to buy Chinese Junk from Walmart? - the "Whatever Happened to Kansas" mystery" expressed for the millionth time...)

And yes, some of their trickery/lies will work... but most will be spotted - - spotted as the most insulting way one human can ask for power over another ... And in the long run the Democrat party will die. As it should.

An alternative? Andrew O'Hehir could take the next step into reality... the one where he sees his party from the perspective of the people he's attempting to rule over...

Dumbos nude singing cowboy just lost in Montana.

Heck, Dumbos just lost in Omaha---the race that got caught in the abortion debate.

DNC Perez recently declared abortion-on-demand is Democrats' ticket to victory.

So if that's not working, it figures desperate Dems might be looking at infanticide....perhaps mercy killing of the disabled...... for winning issues.

============================================

In Kansas couple weeks ago, Repub Estes won by a commanding eight points; then Dumbo Ossoff in GA failed to prevent a runoff...even after every prog/Dumbo and his second cousin from East Overshoe, USA, gave Ossoff some 10 million dollars.

Earlier Democrats lost again b/c they failed to flip Zero Seats in Four Blue State Special Elections. Those total Democrat humiliations by the Russians occurred right after DNC genius Tom Perez bragged Democrats would show that that "resistance to Trump" could be translated into electoral victories.

To add insult to injury, the Minnesota, Connecticut, Virginia Democrat losses are the states the Russians threw to Hillary in the 2016 presidential election.

Go figure.

I'll finish the article in a moment but, here is just one point I have making since Trump at 2am November 2016:

the extreme and ingenious gerrymandering of congressional districts locked in by Republican state legislators after the 2010 census virtually guarantees a GOP House majority until the next census and at least the 2022 midterms. Yes, the widely-hated health care law might put a few Republican seats in play that weren’t before. But the number of genuine “swing” districts is vanishingly small, and it would require a Democratic wave of truly historic dimensions to overcome the baked-in GOP advantage.

That's right, we had greater control over redistricting in 2010 to majorities were it greatly mattered, after the 2010 census

We need even more majorities in 2018 and 2020 to ensure we re-draw disctrict maps after the 2020 census.

This will ensure Republican domination for a decade and the Dems will wail and commit further acts of violence that will be a turnoff for a good many of the older generation, pushing them more and more toward Republican representation.

Dominating 2018 and 2020 ensures we also get another four years of Trump/Pence thus, taking over the Supreme Court with a 3 more SCOTUS judges , after Gorsuch and a fair amount of the Federal Judiciary

Reagan and Clinton had the highest number of federal judicial appointments at almost 400 over their two terms and I look for Trump to break that record with a party that has no numericaly significant opposition.

So, let your friends on the left whine, gloat or whatever the hell it is they do, as it a childish fantasy on one part to engage in the hyperbolic fantasies of impeachment and a lack of the ability to understand the politics of it all on a map and using 3rd grade math

For my part, I encourage their simplistic focus on something that isn't there and can't be fabricated out of anything solid, while helping them understand they needn't despair.

The Republic, after all , has withstood many evolutions over our history and except for a terrible time in the 1860's we had no real prospects for a revolution and I ask them "Do you forsee a unifying point of disagreement in an error of the humanities of America that would unite two sides to actually go to war with each other and would you enjoy seeing that if you could elucidate the problem?"

I always get nothing back and encourage them to maybe concentrate an areas where they really can win, most of the time or take up a more satisfying hobby and watch the politics over the next decade as an observer, because your vote, in most of America, no longer matters

Oh! And you might find something else to ban, like more plastic, because time after time, your views on banning guns is part of an ever shrinking minority and laws in each of the states continue to expand gun rights and with a majority federal judiciary and eventually SCOTUS, even California is going to be rolled back.

'Ave nice day - - - Das Vi Danya...

The only thing voting out the Republicans would do is to hand power over to frothing at the mouth, half-crazed Democrats, who want nothing more than to take down Trump. Why would Trump supporters want that? The cries on the far-left for impeachment will reach an insane, non-stop pitch if the Dems ever get control of the Congress while Trump is still president. Nothing Trump wants will get passed, even if it’s something the Dems usually support, and they will do everything possible to sabotage and destroy him—and they’ll be doing it from a position of power. The Republicans are bad, but God help us all if the Dems get power. Things would get ten times worse for the president.

We need to EDUCATE folks that the Conservative path is the path to prosperity for all.
Don’t waste time with the Red-Diaper baby next door.
There are lots of other folks who can be persuaded away from the Dark Side of Oba-won & Her Thighness.
But, YOU need to persuade them.

Just think, if we each could persuade just 3 people . . .

That concept is rather slow sinking-in around here. Many seem to think the GOPe is stupid rather than greedy and traitorous.

There are so many gems of quotes by posters on Salon but this one, for some reason, stood out against all the silly uncritical thinking I read so far:

Paul Anderson · Works at Freelance Researcher
The Trumpies think 51%, a 7% margin, was a decisive victory, a wide margin. But they are fools and liars.

Democrats who agree with them are worse. This is not to say that taking the House in 2018 will not require work and money; it will. But if we had put work and money into the Montana campaign, we would probably have won. (Quist was outspent 2 to 1, and got no money from out-of-state; a few radio ads, at the very end, when most of Montana had voted, is not the same.)

Paul Anderson is like most of the Dems and just can’t do the math.

It isn’t personal or politics it is simple math.

You aren’t going to have 25 seats up for vote on your side and opponent only and believe you are going to win all your seats, a majority of your seats and some significant number of your opponents.

Mathematical probabilities don’t allow that, the same as you cannot honestly challenge the laws of gravity, thermo dymanics or motion.

There will be zero inertia for Dems in 2018 or 2020.

It’s the math...
