So yeah, his type would be just what democrats want - a liar with a press willing to kiss his butt.
It would be shameful but what can I say - - that's who democrats are... I assume David Byler is aware of all this...
And as I recall, in 2004, Edwards declined to run for reelection to the Senate, because of fears he wouldn’t be reelected. This decision was made before John Kerry chose him as his running mate.
Trump talked about grabbing, in a locker room style conversation, in which his true meaning was that women become sluts if you’re on tv. But this guy was OUT GRABBING while running for President, while his wife was at home DYING OF CANCER. I think you can’t get in to the Dem party if you have one moral or one ethic.
I think Jim McGeevy is what the Democrats need.
I’m waiting for the Weiner/Holder ticket........
Keith Ellison/Cynthia McKinney
I tell you who reminds me of John Edwards.....
that ugly, lying joke of a senator from Connecticut, Chris Murphy.
He is repugnant in every sense of the word.
I wonder, though, if Trump was so successful in the Republican primaries because Hillary was the presumed Democratic nominee and she and Bernie were the only ones in the race.
If Jim Webb or somebody like him had actually mounted a viable campaign, could he have drawn off enough votes from Trump so that one of the Establishment Republicans got the nomination?
Werner/Holder or would it be Danger/Holder? You’ve got a really good dem ticket there, too.
But, can anyone really beat Tim Kaine? I mean, his debate skills are just, well, staggering.
Jim Webb might as well be a Republican. He has about as much chance of being the Democratic nominee as I do.
John Edwards?! He could have given Hillary hair care tips.
I honestly think they could have won with Joe Biden at the top of the ticket and we are very, very lucky that Hillary sucked up all the O2 in the room.
“POS”
Yes, that was very low. John Edwards is a good looking guy, he could a gal anytime he wanted to. He should have shown some more dignity, just as a person, forget politician or anything.
I have NO USE for that Mark Sanford (sp?) either, and I was and remain very disappointed that the voters sent him to congress. I don’t care HOW conservative he votes, he’s a bum.
There’s 350 MILLION people in the USA, I’m sure we can find replacements for people like this.
We need Silky Pony!
Back to the drawing board.
His hometown, once a thriving and lovely small North Carolina town whose textile manufacturing plant employing generations of families, which has lain in rubble in the recent past, and now is gone due to the very circumstances Trump described!
Edwards, the successful NC trial lawyer, campaigned nationally on the "two Americas" theme, but never used his own millions earned elsewhere, to benefit the small community which thrived during his youth and for decades earlier than that, but decayed under Democrat policies he embraced.
He is the perfect candidate to run against Trump in 2020. He is the ideal example of a talented youth in America, born and bred in what was a small community-oriented, rural, once hearing the hum of industry, a town which has produced doctors, lawyers, teachers, successful business leaders--even an astronaut--and now presents a powerful illustration of Trump's campaign message.
They could’ve won with Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau of Canada because he talks their talk and he’s good-looking.
If Webb (or somebody like him) could draw off enough discontented voters from the Republican primaries to vote for him in the Democratic primary, could it have hurt Trump enough so that somebody else got the GOP nomination? Somebody who'd likely lose to Hillary?
There was talk during the campaign about Hillary hiring somebody to run against her to make her seem interesting. It might not have been such a bad idea for her. But of course, at the time, she thought Trump would be a pushover and that the better he did in the Republican primaries the better it would be for her.
