The pen thingy doesn’t bother me. What bothers me is the idea, that Ryan and Bush were behind the video of Trump where he is speaking to the young Bush.
That one video has done more damage to Trump then everything combined. It’s been used time and time again by his enemies to say he’s a racist, sexist, Bill Cosby groper etc.
We have a different guy in the WH. He is a true gentleman and an adult. We will all learn from him EVERY DAY, CONTRARY TO THE EVERYDAY CRAPOLA WE HAD TO DEAL WITH FROM OBAMA.
Trump is looking at the big picture. I think everyone is given a fresh start except the never trumpers who signed the document saying that he was unfit.
We’ll have to see.

The wink was to someone off camera, not part of the entourage.
Could it be someone thought Melania or Trump should have retained a pen for themselves or the kids?

I can’t say what was going on...it could be for any number of reasons.
All I can say is that Ryan winked and put the pen by the folder.
I don’t trust him. Pence made sure Trump got the Proclamation pen.
Trump wasn’t thinking that is for sure. His family would have valued the very first signing with the very first pen. To Trump..those pens meant nothing.
Trump is a deal maker. And the beauty is he doesn’t drink. So they can’t accuse him of boozing. All these late night dinners and parties are Trump trying to schmooze and get things done. Even his detractors admit Trump is a larger than life character and personable.

I see Trump recognizing what happened.
He definitely looks more than once at that pen Ryan left.
He does not look happy when he sees the pen. After hearing these people grumble about what pens they got thus dissing his picks..it had to cross his mind that Ryan was dissing him....even if Ryan was being thoughtful and leaving a pen for trump (which I don’t believe)
Trump does not like to be slighted.
I really didn’t pay attention to Barron other than the peek a boo thing so don’t know if he picked up on it.
All I know if that you can’t trust the backstabbers in DC.
Obama is a master at this stupid inside DC game. He used a different pen to sign each letter for his Obamacare signature. He gave those pens out as gifts because I read that this pro abort nun got one.
Exactly. Ryan could use the pen to curry favor with someone like a donor, someone in his district, lobbyist, etc..It’s how those pens are used.
Yet, he winks and rejects it.

Maybe I am just jaded by the fact that I view Ryan as an untrustworthy backstabber. Maybe his rejection of the pen was altruistic..I can even barely type that word as it relates to him.
I think Barron and Melania traded places. Maybe Melania was trying to distance him from the nasties. All of a sudden she was beside The President and Barron was playing peekaboo.
I can’t believe the huge deal over a bunch of pens and which pen was used to sign what.
They really do go out of their way to be nasty or find ways to slight people.
They do not have enough work to do if all they can think about is plotting and scheming.
Our money is being wasted on those losers.
Also, Trump may very well understand the significance of it all.
Remember-people are always underestimating him at their own peril.
Trump can be wise as a serpent but gentle as a dove.
He could be playing the noob here but mentally taking notes on everything.
He won’t forget any of it.
I have said all along that Trump doesn’t forget and he does hold grudges. A lot of people here don’t believe me.
He isn’t going to forget this but he will play nice while trying to find a way to screw over the likes of Mccain, Graham..and likely Ryan if Ryan keeps dissing him.
I watched it again and Barron gave pelousie a look as if to say “huh?” “Why are you making such a big deal over pens?”
This could have been set up by Trump so he can see who is going to just move on and work with him and who isn’t.
As he walked away, he looked very disgusted.
He will remember.
It will be interesting to see what happens later.
This could have been the last chance given for people to turn it around and act decent.
I bet they are “dead” to him now.
I saw VP Pence lean in and say something after President Trump had used the same pen to do the first five or so signatures.
Then he started handing them out (and the haggling and horse trading ensued...).
Correct. I watched it live and at that time I was so pissed at Pelosi and the grumbling going on during the signing. When it is brought up now, my first recollection wasn’t Ryan...it was Pelosi being a brat over a darn signing pen. For people who really won’t work with Trump, they sure did fight and fuss over those pens.
