Democrats want their leaders to stand against Trump, even if it means gridlock

Most Democrats want their party leaders to stand up to incoming President Donald Trump rather than work with him, says a new survey that reflects a deeply divided nation.

Nearly two-thirds – or 65 percent – of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters agreed that congressional Democrats should “stand up” to the president-elect on issues important to Democratic supporters, “even if it means less gets done in Washington,” the Pew Research Center poll found. Just 32 percent want party leaders, who are now in the minority in the House of Representatives and Senate, to work with Trump if it means disappointing Democrats.

In a sign that underscores the country’s increasing partisanship, the survey notes that the level of Democratic support for cooperating with the president-elect today is “substantially less” than was Republican support for working with President Barack Obama eight years ago....

Harry Reid says the filibuster isn’t a thing any more. Nuke them twice a day everyday.

They don’t have to worry. McCain and Graham and all their Senate RINO buddies will stymie Trump for them.

Its funny to have heard the liberals say, during the Obama era, about the importance of bipartisan cooperation, to “get things done in Washington”, and “end gridlock”.

Now the shoe is on the other foot, now the liberals don’t see it as important to have bipartisan cooperation to get things done in Washington.

Now the liberals see great value in obstruction of a president, and renewed reverence for legislative procedures such as filibusters.

Amazing what an election can do, to stated positions and attitudes about the work of Congress and our government.

Heck next the liberals will say that they oppose presidential executive orders............

How did the measure increasing partisanship before. Who is and has been more partisans, Dems or Reps. The assertion fails without evidence.
FAKE NEWS?

Trump will use XO’s to rollover the gridlocked rats.

Many of the gridlock rats will lose their next elections if they continue to be rectums.

See my tagline re what will happen to these rectums.

The Democrats will keep replaying the government shutdown scenario until they finally get blamed for it. Something the MSM will labor to prevent. As a consequence the Republicans will continue to irrationally fear them.

A lot of Democratic Senators are up for reelection in 2018. Many of them who are in the Red or Border states are in trouble, having been swept in with an Obama win in 2012. They will be in a much weaker position in 2018 than they were in 2012.

I think two or three of them can be flipped immediately and then the conservative residents of the states of the remaining borderline senators need to be organized for letter-writing campaigns to influence their votes on key issues. There might be enough Democrats who can be pressured that a filibuster can be avoided.

On the other hand, all we need is for three Republicans to vote the other way to stalemate on any issue. Rand Paul, for example, is talking like he is going to use his swing vote to negotiate.

Trump’s Popularity Surges After Election (Choke On This LSM)

It’s been nearly two weeks since the election and Donald Trump has already become more popular.

According to a Politico/Morning Consult poll of registered voters, Trump’s favorability has climbed 9 points since the same poll was taken right before the election, from 37 percent to 46 percent, while his unfavorability rating dropped by double digits, from 61 percent to 46 percent—a 15-point difference.

Trump is also getting high marks for his transition effort. Nineteen percent of those polled believe it is more organized than past efforts and another 34 percent believe the transition is about the same, according to the poll that Morning Consult conducted Nov. 16-18.

“Trump’s favorability among voters has reached new highs since he became president-elect,” said Morning Consult cofounder and Chief Research Officer Kyle Dropp. “This honeymoon phase in common for new presidents. For example, Obama saw about a 20 point swing in his favor following the 2008 election.”

Liberals only like the Constitution when it can be manipulated to work to their advantage.
