Bill Bennett?! That is impressive. What is the source? This should have its own post.

It would also be good to have a VP who could carry the mantle forward after one or two Trump terms, and I don’t see Kasich as one who could do that. He’s coming across now as Clinton/Saunders lite, “for crying out loud.” (Of all primary candidates, have found him to be the least inspiring, with the exception of Graham.)

Which election was that? 2000? Challenged by Jack E. Robinson, III?

I voted in that election. For the Libertarian Carla Howell.

Fat Teddy won with 72.69% of the vote. Massholes are hopeless fools!

Very good thinking.  Makes sense.  A couple days ago I wrote a little piece on FR: Carson the Brain Surgeon Mind Melds with Trump's Cerebrum

It's a good story, but Carson has already run the gauntlet somewhat. Trump's campaign has already scared away lots of ghosts.

You make a good point, but there are reasons to believe the smear wouldn't work as it did for the 9/9/9 guy.

Interesting viewpoint and explanation. I hate the fact that so many claim that losing is winning, but there may be some select cases where certain battles prove it out - we usually do it with the war-ending battle then wonder how we got into the mess we’re in.

To set the record straight, searching the internet it appears as though Bill Bennett wrote no such thing. In fact Bill Bennett is the same old GOPe Bill Bennett we all know. Here is Bill Bennett on Trump in this Hannity interview on Foxnews

.....snip...

HANNITY: So you OK with a Donald Trump candidacy?

BENNETT: No, I'm not OK at all!

.....snip...

BENNETT: Conservatives turned to Ryan. The other caucuses turned to Ryan. Yes, now I know they're criticizing him, but why was he the one guy? Because they know he is a true conservative...... who has deep conviction who can lead. _____________________________________________________

That's the Bill Bennett we know - Paul Ryan the principled conservative who can lead. Just don't ask too much of him.

If Trump wins FL and OH tonight, this nomination race is all over.

The notion that Ted Cruz can then run the table on Trump one-on-one in upcoming delegate rich states in Trump's backyard like NY, NJ, CT and PA is laughable. I've done the math and that is what Cruz would need to do in order to overtake Trump at that point - if Trump takes FL and OH tonight.

Donald Trump does suck rather badly at caucusing. But there's only two caucus states left - UT and ND. Likewise, Cruz has a pretty awful record with primaries, outside his home turf.

What Kasich says in debates are commonly found in tweets from George Soros. That’s probably because Kasich is a Soros-funded puppet.

What was not written by Bill Bennett? What the poster of this thread wrote or what I wrote? Because what I wrote was me, LOL. Help me, I’m confused by your response as it stands right now.

Ironic isn't it. That the story about womanizing would help Ted whom I'm sure was a womanizer like both his brothers.

After Clinton, I think these kinds of stories have less affect on the majority. Because peoples morals have been lessened while others recognize and ignore smear campaigns like that.

As we all remember they did that to Allen West, and that was recently so perhaps with a Republican you might be right. So far we haven't heard any of these kinds of rumors about womanizing by Carson, and who knows people may just ignore it to support Trump.

This has already been as different an election for President as I have ever witnessed, where anything is possible. BTW, Allen West might also be a good running mate, strong like Trump as well. That is the one weak attribute about Carson, does not really project a strong personality. I think Carson has, in more likelihood, a better favorability rating though.

You support that buffoon, Kasich? He is a democrat! He 100% for amnesty, for TPP and has accepted campaign money from Soros! You are some kind of leftist and truly your peeps are at DU!

I already said that I won’t lose a night of sleep if he loses because none of these candidates excite me. Cruz will lose if he is nominated. Rubio will do whatever the oligarchs want. Trump has a lot of issues but he does love America. Kasich has experience and if he can withstand the oligarchs and do his job then there is hope.

What is the job of POTUS? Go read the oath of office as that’s the entire instruction manual. Any lobbyist, commentator, or deal maker who tries to wiggle around that should be kicked out of the Oval Office, period.
