ORLANDO, FLA. -- Donald Trump wants to make sure Marco Rubio's campaign ends in the same state where it started.
At a rally that saw the businessman leave the podium to stare down a group of protesters and attempt to lead supporters in a pledge of allegiance to him, Trump unleashed the first salvo in a 10-day campaign to finish off Rubio by defeating him in Florida's March 15 primary.
Calling the Florida senator an "idiot," Trump portrayed Rubio as beholden to his donors and said voters here should reject Rubio for neglecting his day job.
"What does he do with all his free time? He's got the highest delinquency record in the United States Senate in many, many years," Trump said. "That is not the kind of person you want representing Florida. That's not the deal you made."
Florida, which awards all of its 99 delegates to the statewide winner, will be a critical contest in determining both Rubio's ability to stay in the race and the Republican anti-Trump faction's ability to deny the front-runner a clear majority of delegates ahead of the national convention in July....

As a FL Cruzer I don't agree with Trump on everything, but I yugely agree with him on this.
It would sure be nice to see Florida dump Rubio. I’m sure he’s already applying for a job on K-Street.

Read that article. If it is accurate and true, Trump went over the hash mark by asking people to swear that they would vote for him early.
He need not call Rubio names. Just remind people of Rubio’s absenteeism in the Senate and his Gang of Eight policies and specifically quote his lies.
I want Donald’s policies to be implemented. But he had better be careful.
Is it possible Rubio will bow out before Florida and let Cruz have his votes in a Cuban Coup?

Interesting now to see that Cruz is investing valuable resources in FL, where he will not win but where he will split the “not-Trump” vote with Rubio. This only hurts Rubio and the GOPe and thus helps Trump.

I love how Mr Gang of Eight lectures us on what is and isn’t conservatism.
You’d think Rubio would smell the roses and graciously bow out of the Florida primary before he is humiliated and probably sent to into political limbo.
Instead, come out and say that upon reflection (cough) he realizes he is too young to be POTUS and needs more seasoning. To that end, he is withdrawing from the race and will consider running for a position where he will gain experience in working with the State legislature in 2018.
But perhaps his reward is a cushy K Street job if he throws himself under the bus.
Poor guy will have to settle for one of those low 7 figure beltway lobbyist gigs....
