BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Ben Shapiro, recent interviewee, Limbaugh Letter, young, brilliant conservative, located many places. Has a piece on the Daily Wire here: "Three Reasons the Iowa Polls Might Not Predict a Trump Win."

Now, there a lot of people, I had somebody say to me last night, "Rush, I don't believe these Iowa polls." Iowa's different. You gotta show up and caucus. It's not just vote. You've gotta actually go there. And this person cited what is in the Drive-By Media. You know, Trump doesn't have the ground game. He really doesn't have the ground game. It's a big different thing in Iowa. You can't just fly in there and make speeches and fly out. You gotta have an organization....

“Trump doesn’t have the ground game”.. Supporters waiting outside for hours in pouring rain and freezing temperatures IS his ground game.

Trump has thousand waiting to get into a rally, Ted has a few hundred in attendance.

Trump has Sam Clovis and Chuck Laudner running his ground game in Iowa. Cruz has a Glenn Beck endorsement...

We will know on Monday night.

Trump is a closer...and Cruz is a luzer.

Don’t forget that Trump has Mike Savage. Just as crazy, if not more so, than Beck.

If the Caucus are anything like FreeRepublic lately, those caucus could get quite interesting..

I could see 10k people showing up to caucus for Trump and 500 Cruz folks starting a war...

Talk about ground game is mostly BS. Only if they are neck and neck can the “ground game” make a difference.

4 years ago nobody thought that the first time caucus goers supporting Ron Paul would show up, but they did.

Ron Paul outperformed every poll and came within 3 points of winning the whole Iowa caucus.

Showing up at a nearby voting location to write your candidate’s name on a piece of paper is not that hard.

He might, he might not. We'll find out in a week. This is uncharted territory.

Of course Trump will lose. The polls never mean a damn thing there. Obama finished 17% above the last poll, and Kerry and Huckabee overcame 10%.

Again today, Rush turned his show over to a Cruz supporter and allowed him to bash Trump repeatedly, unanswered, with Rush throwing in some agreement. The call lasted forever; it was agony. This was the second time I have listened to that. I won’t anymore; I will turn the radio off. I have already quit listening to Levin.

Also, another Cruz supporter called in (or more accurately, was allowed on) and proceeded to slam Trump. His method in slamming Trump was to slam Trump’s supporters. He claimed that Trump supporters only support Trump because they are wowed by his personality, belong to a personality cult. I think Rush did ask him about Trump’s supporters agreeing with Trump on the issues. No, the caller maintained, it was all cult worship. He was just another idiot; never gave anyone any reason to vote for his object of his adoration — Cruz.

The new tough Cruz ad showing Trump’s 17 year old interview with the now-deceased Tim Russert is going to hurt the frontrunner considerably. But that doesn’t mean the lost support will go to Cruz, who is being hit hard by a Rubio attack on Cruz’ lawyering for a Chinese company. Gonna be one hell of a week.

“Since when does Iowa even matter?”

Going all scorched Earth to get 29 to 26 in a proportional distribution.

Most of the polls aren’t very reliable, IMO, due to the small samples.

I see it as a tossup at this point in time.
