Oh - your dislike of him (and attack on me because I listened) is because he's a Mormon? I was fully aware of that and I am adult enough to pick through the parts I know that I don't agree with. I did like some of his points very much, though. I was a history major in college because I love it - and I think he picks through ideas that did shape our history and I like his interpretations.
I am a person who listens objectively. He was endorsing Ted Cruz, and I clicked the link to hear the endorsement. In fairness, I listened to most of Palin's speech as well. I like politics. I like speeches.
Calling someone "ripe for the picking" because they liked a speech is a little - over the top insulting.

Did I say anything about him being a Mormon? No, I did not, but YOU did. I wasn’t attacking you per se, just saying that you sound extremely gullible to listen to a charlatan such as Beck. Beck’s interpretations of history, etc. are mostly plagiarized from others. That was the reason Levin was so mad at him for many years.

You brought up the 'disliking his gospel' stuff, so I wondered.
At any rate, others here have posted some well-researched, thoughtful responses in support of Ted Cruz, which was the point of the good intro speech made by some well-spoken guy in Iowa today, and I'm enjoying reading them tonight.
Tried to listen to his speech, but have heard the Faith, Hope and Charity speech before. He’s ok if you like Mormon doxology.

Mr. Savage boldly predicted that Cruz is finished on Jul 21, 2014. We shall see if Savage is correct. I listed to Savage daily in 1997 while living in Berkeley and dealing with the illogical and unethical people in leadership. His strong opinions gave support to my fuzzy view of what the heck is happening.
I learned that Savage downplays the power of the Lord and thus highlights the animation in his speech.
Savage is the mental pornographer.
This low life will say and do anything to get his stupid “books”. Plus he touts his useless botanical herbology or whatever degree like it means something. To top it off, he is a Trumpanzee shouting louder and throwing feces at everyone.
Savage is a legend in his own mind. Those who constantly have to tell you how smart they are tend not to be. I sometimes try to listen to his show, but usually turn it off after a few minutes.
Trump has voiced the same concerns that many Americans, both Democrat and Republicans have and was the first one to really hammer home his sincere concern about the illegal invader problem. The rest have all jumped on the band wagon now that they can see it is not going to sink them. But I believe the one of the primary reason he has such wide appeal is that people want to believe that there is someone who can lead this country out of the mess we are now in.
Who are they most likely to put their faith in? A typical politician like Jeb, Marco, Kasich, Santorum, or Christie, the firebrand politicians, Paul or Cruz, the black surgeon, Carson, the former woman CEO, Fiorina, the sleaziest woman whoever lived, Hillary, an old communist hippy Sanders, or a bigger than life reality TV Star Billionaire, Trump whose name they are very familiar with and is synonymous with success...
Who they would choose is a no-brainer, and then when it turns out that Trump has seemingly limitless energy and puts on a better more professional show than any of the other candidates it is even more impressive. Then it turns out he has a unique ability to push the media around like they are a bunch of chumps. There is no question that he outshines all the other characters in the Demopublican greatest show on earth. Even before the voting begins he looks like an unstoppable force.
We are very lucky that Trump has many conservative views and has chosen to be on our side and wants to turn back the crap Obama has saddled our country with. Our country is in a crisis, Trump has successfully cast himself as the powerful leader we need to dig ourselves out of the mess we are now in.
I am not sensing that he is backing away from any of the conservative principles he now claims to have. As far as his followers... who knows... he seems to have a great deal of crossover appeal and like Obama people tend to project their beliefs on him.
