Cruz did call for a wall as early as 2011, as pointed out earlier in this thread.
Trump people will refuse to believe this, but Trump is copying Cruz, not the other way around.

I just listened to that - he supports fences, he supports walls, he supports helicopters, he supports technology. Sounds like he doesn’t support one thing but several - he did not say, however, a wall.
