Donald Trump predicted Monday that the race for the 2016 Republican nomination will wither down to him and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
Trump and Cruz have, for the most part, avoided directly going after each other. Trump, appearing on the “TODAY Show,†denied the notion he struck a deal with the Tea Party favorite to avoid directly criticizing each other.
“We just get along,†Trump said. “He backed me just about everything I’ve said and we get along well.â€
He then predicted it probably wouldn’t last too much longer because he believes the race will ultimately force them to face off....

What about let the people decide on the issues without going after each other with attacks?
Cruz will debate issues. He will not attack.
The two ought to partner up.

For this election, that is his weakness. The people will see a guy who debates, realizing that you can’t debate the Progressives any more. If you debate them, you talk and they lie and they demand that you give endless evidence while they hold out their feelings as all the proof they need. Then when you get tired of wrestling that pig in the mud, they declare victory and say that the matter is settled.
We need a fighter who can play the Progresive game with a track record of being the better pig in the mud. You beat Progs by BEATING THEM DOWN not by scoring points in civil debate.
Progs win these days by reaching out a hand in friendship and then when we reach out to take it, they grab us and pull us down and kick us. We need someone that is willing to grab THEIR hand and rip it off at the shoulder and beat them to death with it.
Only a master blaster and deal maker like Trump can reset the rules so that a principled guy like Cruz can do anything useful versus the Progs. Cruz needs to follow Trump to the WH and then succeed him in 2020.
Trump can make the Progs beg for civility again.
I think they have.

Because the Dems will not “debate the issues”. A candidate who only does that will be destroyed.
Look, the Dems already have the ‘creepy’ thing filtering about Cruz. They made Mc Cain out to be a madman. Ethically debating isn’t going to cut it. You need to be a street fighter.

Cruz is finished in the general when his Dominionist videos come out. Plus his Dad is raving nuts. Never mind the ‘creepy’ tag that is getting placed on him.

They don’t need to attack each other until the GOPe is out.
Trump, Cruz AMERICA loves you both. Stay cool, stay civil, stay friends and partners. Be a team, the two on a ticket is the answer. Draw straws to see which would be which if necessary but stay together, run together and don’t attack one another. AMERICA deserves to see the dynamic duo in action. JUST THINK how much damage the two of you might do to those who have attempted to take down our beloved country. AMERICA looks forward to working with you to make AMERICA GREAT for GREAT AMERICANS.

The GPS might try to pair Cruz up with Rubio.
More likely he will point out how lame attacks against him are and "attack" by dismantling the attacks on him.
Those of us that want Cruz need to support his campaign - he has over $100 million but Hilary will have around $1 billion to work with....
