That is the “pro-American jobs” stand I have heard from the GOP for as long as America has been sending jobs overseas.

Trump is different.

He is really, for bringing jobs back to America.

Allowing oil exports of domestic American oil will help.

Way to totally avoid the question. It was about them Mexican illegals employed to build Trump’s hotels.

I don’t think Trump hires illegals.

Perhaps you know differently. If you could, perhaps a link would be a useful way to illustrate to readers, your point.

:D

My point is there are tens of thousands of employees who Trump employs or has employed. A very large number of people, in a large number of companies. Far larger than those employed by any other presidential candidate in either party, throughout history.

But I am just challenging you to substantiate this claim here, if you wouldn’t mind?

Thanks.

Ted Cruz likes to be on both sides of an issue.

Egypt
Cruz sided with the terrorist Muslim Brother (MB) when the Egyptian military military over threw the terrorish MB.

"President Obama's detached and abstract statement yesterday on deteriorating conditions in Egypt is only the most recent manifestation of this Administration's failed policy in that country. As there can no longer be any reasonable doubt that what occurred in July was a military coup, the first step is to send an unequivocal message that the United States is a nation of laws and suspend aid to Egypt."

source

But ..... Cruz praising the Egypts' al-Sissi that lead the coup to over throw the MB.

Let me contrast President Obama, who at the prayer breakfast essentially acted as an apologist. He said well gosh the crusades, the inquisitions ... We need a president that shows the courage that Egypt's President al-Sissi did as a Muslim when he called out the radical Islamic terrorists who are threatening the world.

source

On the Patriot Act Texas Senator and GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz
praised fellow presidential candidate and Senator Sen. Rand Paul's speech against the renewal of the Patriot Act on Wednesday.

Cruz began, "I would note he [Rand Paul] and I agree on a great many issues, although we don't agree entirely on this issue, but I want to take the opportunity to thank the Senator from Kentucky for his passionate defense of liberty. His is a voice that this body needs to listen to." And praised the prior work of Rand and his father, former Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX).

He continued, "I think protecting the Bill of Rights is a fundamental responsibility of the federal government. And it is heartbreaking over the last six years that we have seen a federal government that not only fails to protect the Bill of Rights, but that routinely violates the constitutional liberties of American citizens, routinely violates the Bill of Rights."

Cruz added, "It is the position of the Obama administration that the federal government has the full constitutional authority to track the location of every American citizen, no matter where we walk. That is a breathtaking assertion of power."

source

But .... Senate Renews Patriot Act and Rejects Bill That Would've Ended NSA's Domestic Spying Program
Here's the roll call, vote by vote position. Notice the four Republican Senators who voted for it: Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Dean Heller, and Lisa Murkowski.

source

Cruz is for legal status (amnesty) for illegal immigrates
"And I'd like to make a final point to those advocacy groups that are very engaged in this issue and rightly concerned about addressing our immigration system, and in particular about addressing the situation for the 11 million who are currently in the shadows. If this amendment is adopted to the current bill the effect would be that those 11 million under this current bill would still be eligible for RPI status. [Registered Provisional Immigrant] They would still be eligible for legal status and indeed under the terms of the bill they would be eligible for LPR status as well [Lawful Permanent Resident], so that they are out of the shadows, which the proponents of this bill repeatedly point to as their principle objective -- to provide a legal status for those who are here illlegally to be out of the shadows. This amendment would allow that to happen.

And a second point to those advocacy groups that are so passionately engaged. In my view if this committee rejects this amendment, and I think everyone here views it as quite likely this committee will choose to reject this amendment, in my view that decision will make it much, much more likely that this entire bill will fail in the House of Representantives. I don't want immigration reform to fail. I want immigration reform to pass, and so I would urge people of good faith on both sides of the aisle, if the objective is to pass common sense immigration reform that secures the borders, that improves legal immigration, and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows, then we should look for areas of bipartisan agreement and compromise to come together and this amendment --I believe if this amendment were to pass the chances of this bill passing into law would increase dramatically, and so I would urge the committee to give it full consideration and to adopt the amendment."

Video at the source

But ......
"A majority of the candidates on this stage have supported amnesty," he said. "I have never supported amnesty, and I led the fight against Chuck Schumer's gang of eight amnesty legislation in the Senate."

source

On TPA Cruz wrote
By establishing TPA, Congress will send a signal to the world. America's trading partners will know that the U.S. is trustworthy and then put their best offers on the table. America's rivals will know that the U.S. is serious and won’t abandon the field. And the American people will know this trade agreement is a good, fair deal—because they'll have the information they need to decide for themselves. Promoting American trade will create more opportunity in the country, and so I strongly urge our colleagues in Congress to vote for trade-promotion authority.

source

But ..... Ted Cruz Flips on Trade Bill on Eve of Key Senate Vote

source

On Justice John Roberts Cruz wrote
But, as a jurist, Judge Roberts's approach will be that of his entire career: carefully, faithfully applying the Constitution and legal precedent.

He is a mainstream judge, respected across the ideological spectrum. Thus, he's earned praise from liberal icons such as Harvard Law Professor Larry Tribe, and Chicago Law Professor Cass Sunstein, as well as from Clinton Solicitors General Walter Dellinger and Seth Waxman, and Carter and Clinton Counsel Lloyd Cutler, the latter two of whom both described Roberts as a man of "unquestioned integrity and fair-mindedness."

source

But ..... In St. Louis, Cruz asked the room to imagine what America would be like if Roberts and retired justice David Souter were never on the court.

"In 1990, in one room, was sitting David Souter," said Cruz. "In another room was sitting Edith Jones, the rock-ribbed conservative jurist of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. George Herbert Walker Bush picked David Souter. Let's fast-forward to 2005. In 2005, in one room was John Roberts, and in another room was my former boss, Mike Luttig, a rock-ribbed conservative jurist on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals -- and George W. Bush picked John Roberts."

Regardless who any one side any one is on either Cruz or Trump, high taxes, overbearing regulations, fines, out of control E.P.A. , America lagging in its competiveness, and yes, our hugh national debt all plays a big part in why jobs fled overseas.

Companies making a profit must make a profit to survive, or else why are they in business in the first place ?

Lower energy costs sure will help in bringing jobs back to America, the Green Energy Industry won’t, or at least until those techknowgies mature or some new revolutionary energy comes to market at real world costs.

Lower taxes is self explaintory...

Ban the EPA.

Get the E.P.A. out of our jobs and out of our lives.

I agree.

However I am saying that those have been the talking points I have heard from people outsourcing American jobs now for over an entire generation.

We are this year, going to set yet another record trade deficit with China. It was also a new record the year before. And the year before that. It continues to grow, every single year.

Even now, it is at yet another record high. And our deficit is rapidly approaching 20 trillion dollars.

Nobody, but nobody, is saying a single thing about these very real, and very large problems.

Nobody.

Except Donald Trump.

re:
“and that most of them don’t really expect the blowhard real-estate mogul to win the nomination. “

Once again, The Oregonian shows it’s true, as true it was back when i lived there between 1994 - 2000, to be the liberal rag it is.

Yes, i stump for Trump, and YES, I DO believe that he can win, not only the nomination, but the general election, as well.

Inspite all of this ?

Our huge national debt is our achellies heal.

We already had our credit rating lowered under Obama.

Eventually that bubble will burst.

But until we can manage to get government spending under control, balanced budgets, need to help our industries remain competitive.

Allow domestic American oil be exported.

Get the EPA out of our lives and our of our jobs.

Lower taxes.

Get rid of overbearing regulations.

Get rid of government waste.

At MANY of the CPAC and other yearly conservative events, Cruz has stated his vision to see job growth and spoken about job-related ideas, but it seems that many have not listened to them. They tuned in to hear their own special candidate, but did not listen to Cruz. Fair enough, but don’t accuse Cruz of coming to the game late. He’s been working to turn the destruction that Obama and his minions have created around. Sometimes it is publicly noticed and sometimes not. I know that everything Trump does is noticed, as he makes a lot of fanfare about it. However, one has to be cautious of someone who always has to be in the limelight.

I’m 67, so I’ve seen quite a lot of Trump and his deals, opinions, friends, etc. over the years. That is why I cannot place him as my first choice. He is too liberal. He has only come to most of his current conservative ideals recently. That doesn’t have to disqualify him, as one can certainly change, but criticizing Antonin Scalia? Picking up the false accusations that Rubio has bene slinging at Cruz and trying them out? Waffling EVERY SINGLE WEEK on what he will or will not do in regards to immigration, illegals, etc.? How can ANYBODY with a true heart and mind not realize that Trump is at best a mixed bag?

I PRAY that he will keep his word on immigration, but with all the contradictions, I’m really not certain what he really plans to do about it. I mean, really, go back to his opening shot when he announced, then track all he has said about it since then. If that is not confusing, then words have way different meanings today than when I was growing up. That is really how liberals talk...use the same words, but different meanings. How can one be so supportive of Hillary Clinton and yet take her on in a debate? How do you explain your huge donations and votes for so many liberal policies but insist you are a conservative....THE conservative everyone can trust?

I’m worried that we are being duped....and badly, at that. And, I’m afraid that not many would have the honesty to admit that they were duped if this comes true. We are afraid of getting another Romney, Dole or Bush, but are at risk of being duped, thinking we are getting someone who could actually fix things. I’m beginning to think that Trump just wants to prove he can win, but as far as having plausible policy for getting things done, he has not shone the light on any of that. Talk is just talk. It has to be more than, “we’re going to get this done, everybody’s going to have fun, etc.”Are any of us in our right minds, jumping on a bandwagon that is so poorly laid out? Wasn’t this exactly like Obama? Lots of talk and no specifics.

Don’t get me wrong. I do think that Trump means to try to “fix” things, but he is not helping me to see that his plan has any substance. That bothers me. We have to have more than rhetoric to hold onto. We have to have more than bodaciousness to win against Hillary. A real plan cannot please everybody and anyone who goes around, tweaking it to suit this group or that in order to win their votes is being dishonest to the previous groups.
The “mania” is driving this train, not real ideas.

I voice my concerns to say that I see some not so good things coming when conservatives can be led so easily off track. I know that this has been the most interesting election cycle that I can remember, but I also pray that it is not the undoing of conservatism, altogether. If Trump turns out to be little more than a braggadocio we will feel the disappointment far greater than we think. No man is perfect, which I have stated over and again, and some are coming undone through their own words...the more they speak, the more they reveal. I thought it interesting that even Rush has stated several times that nothing Trump says hurts him, which if we are honest, shows more that he is a cult leader. Cult leaders don’t end well.

I know...I will have a mailbox full of hate in the AM, but so be it. I felt that I needed to get this off my chest. Trump is my no. 2 choice, but I have an uneasy feeling about him that will not go away. I pray I am wrong, but I also wish him well and that, if he wins, he proves to be what America needed to get us turned around. I am not attacking him, but I am voicing my concerns. Concerns that others seem to want to shut down and shout over.
