Yes, neither Jeb nor Trump are particularly conservative ...
I agree that Jeb had/has zero chance of winning EVEN AGAINST HILLARY .. making Jeb almost the only person in America who couldn’t beat the super-crooked Hillary the Liar in the general election.
The whole methodlology of the GOP-e in nominating losers...

this is NOT how a political party is supposed to function, and when we only have two major parties with any serious probability of winning the presidency, ... when one party’s ruling elite decides to turn it into the “LOSER, throw the elections” party.... this leaves us a One-Party-State, at least insofar as we have ONE and only one, apparently- permanent, RULING PARTY.

SO we get dictatorially=minded presidents.. or puppets in the WH that implement dictatorially-minded policies on demand of their puppet=master.

Representative government has been destroyed.
Same in Congress with, most obviously, Pelosi and Reid
(and their enablers like Boner)

a real shame.
the American republic was set up against all odds of history, to allow for representative governance and individual liberty.

We were warned that eternal vigilence was the price of keeping it. We (the American people as a whole, that is) have dropped the vigilence ball.

America. Liberty. Representative Governance. They were a nice trip while they lasted.

That’s weird .. because Trump’s NATIONAL # IS 35.6

So, Iowa is just not anywhere ..!!!

The last 2 Presidential elections, two Repubs won IOWA, but did not get elected President.

So, Iowa is not a good measure of a candidate’s total strength.

He says Trump will drop out when it stops being fun. I have thought that is a possibility, too, but we will have to wait and see if that holds true.

His behavior has been autocratic most or all of his life: definition of autocratic:
“1.of or relating to a ruler who has absolute power:
•taking no account of other people’s wishes or opinions; domineering: “an autocratic management style”. When things don’t go his way, he may bail.

I think he would hate being president as he can’t throw his weight around like he does now. When he says things like, “make all illegals leave now”, he doesn’t understand that laws dictate how that would have to happen. As the judge on Fox News said, every single illegal would have to appear in court before a judge and the judge would have to agree the person should leave the country. The judge said it would take many years to remove the illegals. I think Trump would get extremely frustrated when his orders about anything couldn’t happen immediately as he has done with his company.

I don’t hate any candidate but look at their past behavior to predict likely future behavior. Mental health workers know “Past behavior is an indicator of future behavior.”

At one point loooong ago, I thought this too.

But ... it’s WAAAAY beyond that now. Even if that was originally Trumps plan. Quitting is no longer on the table for him.

This is for all the marbles now. He either wins, or spends the rest of his life alone and miserable and possibly bankrupt.

Trump wouldn’t even run in order to avoid being tagged a loser

My guess is that Trump is in it for "outsider" reasons. I think Trump is running because he is afraid that the ruling elite is increasingly destroying the private sector with regulations, fees, penalties, cheap (uneducated) labor, and soon outright confiscation of wealth. Trump is running to protect what he built because he sees that no one else will if he doesn't step up.

I don't think he is in it for power and glory; he already has that. He's in it for self-preservation, and that is something that one does not drop out of.

“This is for all the marbles now. He either wins, or spends the rest of his life alone and miserable and possibly bankrupt.”

If he didn’t win, I don’t think he would go bankrupt as he has so much money. I don’t know where the bulk of his money is, but his finance people wouldn’t let that happen to him.

Trump appears to have a personal protective wall around himself and has not admitted to making any mistake that would cause some to question his actions/sayings. I think that would continue so he wouldn’t blame himself in any way if he lost. Think he would blame others for his loss.

No one right now can see him losing and maybe he won’t, he may win it.

The self-identified “pundit” really lays himself open to punishment, when he defines his argument as being based on all “we know” about politics. Maybe, just maybe, Trump has a better understanding of politics than do the “we” referred to.

I think in other words, if it stops being fun like it is for Bush, and Walker and Perry, the candidate will drop out? Wow!!! These guys really know their stuff don’t they? I think you’ll see fire in Trump’s eyes if this becomes a contest. He’s a very confident man. He’s been preparing a long time for this.

You can’t see the left making it their personal mission to bankrupt him?

I can.

If he wins, none of this will matter.

But... if he loses... he will be hounded for the rest of his days by the rabid left. It will make what they did to Palin seem like childs play.

Romney Strategist At Clinton School of Public Service.............Stevens, who earlier worked for President George W. Bush’s two presidential campaigns, said that Jeb Bush still could be elected president despite being forced to lay off campaign staff because of sagging fundraising numbers. “No one can get nominated for president without being humiliated,” he said.
